Grandmommy, Ronda, and Mom, Samantha, We quickly discovered we have much in common. She had ridden a float in the Whitehaven Christmas parade a couple of days before our conversation. I, seventy-eight yeas earlier, had as a six-year old ridden a float in the 1936 Booneville, Mississippi Christmas parade. We immediately became confidants. Swearing me to secrecy (and I swear all of you to secrecy) she admitted that she has a boyfriend. I can tell you only that he is a "pencil" pal who lives in Texas. It was soon apparent that they seldom see each other. I suggested that she and her "pencil" pal elope. After I defined the word she thought it was a great idea. She did promise to tell her Mom before she left. Samantha Marie Booker I asked her if she could remember the word elope.
