St. Michael’s School Dress Code Basic Uniform Dress St. Michael’s regular and formal school uniforms must be worn and meet the following standards:   Uniforms must be clean, pressed (ironed as needed), no tears or holes, fit properly in length (pants, skirts, jumpers, and shorts), and free of fading and stains. Burgundy sweater with the school logo Tights, socks and leggings for girls  full length (no crop length)  one solid color (a simple pattern is ok) black, white, gray, or navy Hair accessories on basic uniform days can be any color (please keep it simple and tasteful) Note: Playground pants can be purchased to wear under the jumper or skirt. Note: No athletic or yoga style pants Spirit wear days will be announced to parents and students. There may be days when some grades will have spirit wear dress and others may not. This may be due to a class field trip or outing. Students that do not have a St. Michael’s spirit wear shirt needs to wear the basic uniform that day Free Dress      Free Dress is held once a month. Usually the last Friday of the month. Similar to the uniforms free dress clothing needs to be: clean, pressed (ironed as needed), no tears or holes, fit properly in length (pants, skirts, jumpers, and shorts), and free of fading and stains. Tank tops of any style are not permitted on free dress days Clothing with foul language, sexual content, drug, tobacco, and alcohol logos are not permitted Questionable free dress clothing with be determined by St. Michael’s Staff Cheat Sheet for buying Uniforms           All students need a Lands End Sweater with the St. Michael’s School Logo on it All students need a tie: a. Boys need a navy tie from Lands End b. Girls K-3 need a solid navy cross tie from French Toast c. Girls Grade 4-higher need a burgundy/gray plaid tie from Lands End All students need a white button down (dress) shirt 1 short sleeve and 1 long sleeve (St. Michael’s logo not required) All students need to wear on the bottom: navy blue pants, shorts, skirt, or jumper. Please remember to buy at least one pair of pants/shorts that are not cargo style. Cargo style pants and shorts are not allowed on formal uniform days. Solid color tights, legging, and tights: black, white, navy, and gray (leggings and tights must be full length) 1 pair of nice dress style shoes in black, brown, navy, or gray. OR Students may also wear a tennis shoe that is (mostly) one color black, white, brown, navy, or gray. (this is important for the Formal Uniforms) Purchase one spirit wear shirt (optional) Note: Any uniform clothing or accessories that were purchased before these changes were published will be allowed. Children’s Place: online or in stores It is a good idea to purchase “playground pants” for the young girls to wear under skirts and jumpers. These are shorts the girls can wear without showing their under wear while playing on playground equipment. These are made by Hanes and can be purchased at most Wal-Mart and Target stores.
