OPTIONS Special Chamber OPERATION The STCS-BM (Bubble Machine) is a manually operated pneumatic device, intended to be used as a convenient ‘in-process’ sampling technique for checking sealed splices. Different combinations of in-line or stub splices can be pressure tested in any of the combination of fixtures (8 in total). The splice products are placed in clamps which deliver the test pressure. The product is immersed in water and pressure is delivered down the wire(s) to the sealed area. The operator can select which chambers receive pressure and define the test time. The test result is determined visually by looking for bubbles in the area of the sealed product. This equipment can also check for poke-through i.e. when an individual wire strand poke-through the installed heat-shrinkable sleeve, by detecting the current leakage into the water. If it occurs, a warning LED will be lighted. It’s designed for workbench applications and can process several parts at the same time. It is supplied with a custom shrinking chamber design in accordance with the application specifications. In this case it can process ten parts at the same time and it´s equipped with a cooling system.
