Awais, MAAT, ATR-BC,ATCS, LCAT, LPC Assistant Director of Art Therapy, Department of Creative ArtsTherapies, Drexel University's College of Nursing and Health Professions. Professor Awais has extensive cross-cultural clinical and supervisory experience, practicing in Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, New York, Japan, and Saudi Arabia. She was awarded the first-ever Rawley Silver Research Award from the American Art Therapy Association in 2013 for her project, “Assessing Diversity in Art Therapy Programs.” She is a contributor to the book “Using Art Therapy with Diverse Populations: Crossing Cultures and Abilities” edited by Sangeeta Prasad, Paula Howie, Jennie Kristel. Current research interests include increasing diversity within the field of art therapy, HIV intervention strategies for underserved communities, and supervision. She has presented her work nationally and internationally. From 287 East take Exit 8 (Westchester Mall exit). At the first traffic light make a right onto 22 South/North Broadway. Go to the eleventh light and make a right onto Martine Avenue. Turn right into the City Center Garage to park. Exit the garage on Martine Avenue and walk one block (west) toward Mamaroneck Avenue. Arts Westchester is the nine-story brick building on the corner of Martine Avenue and MamaroneckAvenue. From the east: Take 287 West to Exit 8 (Westchester Mall exit). Continue straight onto Westchester Avenue/ CR-62 W toward White Plains/Westchester Mall Place. After passing the Westchester Mall on your left, bear left as the road forks and make a sharp left turn at the light onto S. Broadway/ NY 22S/ NY 119. Go one block and turn right onto Martine Avenue, then make a quick right into the City Center Garage to park. Exit the garage on Martine Avenue and walk one block (west) toward Mamaroneck Avenue. From the south: Take the Henry Hudson parkway northbound into Westchester County (where it becomes the Saw Mill River Parkway). From the Henry Hudson Parkway, get onto the Cross County Parkway. From the Cross County Parkway, merge onto Hutchinson Parkway North. Get off at Exit 23 N (White Plains-Mamaroneck Avenue). Bear right off of the exit and continue straight on Mamaroneck Avenue through several lights. Mamaroneck Avenue will split off into Bloomingdale Road. Bear left towards Mamaroneck Avenue and continue straight through several traffic lights through downtown White Plains. At the end of Mamaroneck Avenue turn right onto Main Street. Go one block and turn right into the City Center Garage to park. Exit the garage on Martine Avenue and walk one block (west) toward Mamaroneck Avenue.
