Using traditional book-making techniques and a variety of high quality tactile papers, and the dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451, my book displayed the author’s original manuscript annotations and marginalia, readers interaction with the materiality of the pages, the conceptual space of the book and the binary relationship between the pages and critique of screen based reading and e-book materiality. 02 M AJ O R P R O J E CT : R E P O R T & V IS UAL S UMM AR Y My Major Project report and visual research summary showing the primary and secondary research that informed my outcome. 03 E L IZ AB E T H AS HAR D LT D WE B S IT E D E S IG N & B R AN D IN G Elizabeth Ashard is a bespoke, handmade rug designer. This project led me to look at the importance of considering all the senses in design and looking at Kenya Hara’s exhibition ‘Haptic’. My outcome was a series of numbers made out of highly sense engaging things - for example coffee, grapefruit, cotton wool - each with a corresponding box for the user to open and experience. My outcome aimed to encourage designers to think about designing with all the senses in mind rather than just sight. Thank you for having a look! I look forward to hearing from you soon. 07515 263 800 | [email protected] | www.ezetie.com
