All players are required to wear shin guards. No jewelry may be worn. The team listed
first on the schedule is the home team, and must change to an alternate jersey/pinney if
there is a color conflict.
A team may only have players participate that are registered on their roster. All rosters must be
handed in to league administration before the start of your first game. If you must add a player to
the roster, you must speak to the league administration. Players may only be rostered on 1 team
in a specific age group. You may have substitute players from a younger division team sub for
your team on an as needed basis.
A team must have the correct amount of players in order to start a game. If a team does
not have enough players, the team may borrow a player from another team (with
permission from the league administration and the opposing team’s coach). The game
will result in a forfeit. If a team forfeits 2 games during the course of the season, they
will be removed from the schedule and will not receive a refund.
Substitutions are on the fly, the player leaving the field must be within 10 feet of the
bench area before the new player may enter the field. Neither player may leave the field
or enter the field through the flow of play.
A ball completely crossing the line is out of play. Play is restarted with a throw in from
the point where the ball left the field of play. Any ball hitting the ceiling results in a
direct free kick for the opposing team.
A ball which, within the sidelines of the field, contacts the wall behind the goal is
deemed out of play, play will restart as either a corner kick or goal kick determined by
the which player touched the ball last. On a corner kick the ball may be place inside the
field as if a 3 foot arc were painted on the field, this allows for a proper approach to
kick the ball
All free kicks are direct kicks, and the player must be given 10 feet by the defender.
Penalty kicks are taken from 10 yards out.
Goalkeepers must follow outdoor rules for handling the ball. The keeper may not handle
a ball directed to him, intentionally, by the foot of a teammate.
When, in the course of the match, the keeper legally gains possession of the ball with
their hands, they may punt, throw or drop-kick the ball, however, the ball cannot cross
the mid-field line in the air, without hitting the floor or a player. Goal kicks cannot cross
the mid-field line in the air, without hitting the floor or a player.
There is no offside. Slide tackling is not permitted.
Discipline above and beyond normal fouls is at the discretion of the referee and follow
normal soccer guidelines.
The referee may remove a player(s) from the field for a two (2) minute penalty for
persistent infraction of the rules, use of foul language, etc. The team whose player
received the yellow card will play short for two (2) minutes, if the opponent scores
within the two minute penalty, the team returns to full strength.
In the event that a team receives additional yellow card(s) while a two (2) minute
penalty is being served. The player(s) receiving the yellow card will leave the field, the
team will play short until the expiration of his or her two (2) minute penalty.
Players or coaches may be ejected (red-carded) if the referee deems the offense to be
severe enough in nature. The player(s) will leave the field and not return to the match.
The team receiving the red card will play short for a five (5) minute penalty, the penalty
will be served in full regardless how may goals the opponent scores.
In the event that a team receives additional red card(s) while a five (5) minute penalty
is being served. The player(s) receiving the red card will leave the field and not return
to the match, the team will play short until the expiration of his or her five (5) minute
penalty.
Players or coaches who are red-carded may not participate in the next league
game, and further sanctions may be applied depending on the severity of the
offense. MapleZone Sports has a zero tolerance policy on physical and verbal
abuse.
Coaches are encouraged to avoid running up scores on opponents. Discuss a strategy for
this with your players before things get out of hand.
