The intended purpose of this course is to provide participants with a broad range of specialised knowledge and
skills in varied justice-related contexts to undertake skilled work and as a pathway for further learning in the justice
sector.
Students who successfully complete this Diploma in Justice Studies may gain entry into and be eligible for credit
points towards a university course.

Hours of study:
Cairns Campus:
Start 2015: 2 February, full time over 6 months attending four days per week in eight one week blocks over 6
months.
Note: Certificate IV in Justice and the Diploma of Justice are combined. Students can choose to exit at the
completion of the Certificate IV or continue on and complete the Diploma program.
Townsville Campus:
Start 2015: 2 February, full time studies over 1 year attending three days per week. Monday, Tuesday, Friday
10.30am - 5.00pm or part time studies over 2 years attending two nights per week. Tuesday, Wednesday 6.00pm 9.00pm.
Orientation session: Thursday 22 January 2015 6pm to 7pm, Pimlico Campus Lecture Theatre E1.03
Note: Certificate IV in Justice and the Diploma of Justice are delivered as clusterd delivery only.
External studies:
Start 2015: 18 month - 2 year (approximate). You have a maximum of 16 weeks from enrolment date to complete
units enrolled into. Students enrol into one unit at a time.
Resources required:
Students will need to purchase their own USB memory stick and text books.
Entry requirements
Qualifications appropriate to year 12 graduate/mature age with strong language and literacy skills, or, successful
completion of 39292QLD Certificate IV Justice Studies, or, 39183QLD Certificate IV in Justice Administration or
successful completion of BSB40110 Certificate IV in Legal Services, or, any Certificate IV from the Business
Services Training package, or, relevant work or life experience in the business or justice fields.
A Student Administration Charge of $33.00 is applicable to all enrolments, paid once per calendar year.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) recognises your existing experience gained through life or work for which
you may not have obtained a formal qualification. We will work with you to identify your existing skills and
knowledge and assess if you can then achieve a full or part qualification. This also helps to avoid unnecessary
duplication of training.
