Overview
• Templates
– Predesigned documents with a set format,
structure, or “chunks” of text can be used
– Serve as a pattern for letters, orders, and office
visit notes
– Created and customized to minimize amount
of data that needs to be added when working
in the program

• Insert the title for the template in Template Name field
• Complete OV template as if performing an office visit
note
• Use any form of input
• Add vitals during the time of the patient’s actual visit
• Create a template by saving an existing office visit note

• Designed for the most common lab, imaging,
and medical tests
• Created to provide rapid documentation for
the ordering of these common tests
• Accessed from New Menu (Practice View
screen), New Template, New Orders Template

Template Manager
• All the various templates can be accessed in the
template manager from the Practice View screen
• Select the appropriate category button to view
each list
• Highlight the desired template and begin to make
modifications
• Create templates from this window by selecting
the [New Template] button as an alternative
method

Procedure Templates
• Procedure templates are very useful when
documenting procedural verbiage in the OV
• Each time the procedure is documented in an OV
note, the verbiage associated with the procedure
becomes a permanent part of the OV note
• Procedure templates are created by accessing the
Edit menu in the Practice View screen and
selecting the Procedures submenu

• When procedures are
selected in the OV screen,
associated text is added to
the OV note.

•TemplateWare comes with prebuilt office visit, orders,
and letter templates
•OV template is created the same way as if creating an
office visit note
•Vitals or the face sheet information are added during the
time of the patient’s actual visit

•After the practitioner has determined the nature and
cause of the chief complaints, an OV template can be
selected to complete the remaining note
