Skills Training for Accelerated Growth in Local Governments (STAG-LG)
STAG-LG
STAG-LG is a key component of the BusinessFriendly and Competitive LGUs (BFCL) that
supports target local government units in
preparing their communities by providing the
necessary skilled workforce requirements of the
business sector.
OBJECTIVE
It aims to:
1. Improve the capability of LGUs to develop
and manage sound and responsive workforce
development programs that can harness
individuals in the community resulting to job
creation and employment generation; and
2. Contribute to sustained local economic
development
through
workforce
development and skills training

1. Workforce Development for LGUs
 Organizing the team
Establishment of LEDIP Team / Office in the LGU that will
be in-charge of investment promotions to attract
investments and create more jobs

2. Employment and Enterprise Skills Training
Types of Training
Training for wage-employment – to be conducted in
Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs). After
graduation, job-bridging activities shall be pursued
to facilitate employment of qualified graduates
Training for self-employment – this shall cover
modules on entrepreneurial skills development and
provision of starter tool kits
