Cisco Smart Net Total Care Service
Customer Q & A
Q:
What is Smart Net Total Care 3.0?
A:
Cisco Smart Net Total Care Service is a next-generation proactive support service. It features a modern and customizable
®
interface and several other key capabilities. With smart, comprehensive installed base and contract information, you can manage
Cisco service coverage, security and product alerts, and product lifecycles while streamlining Cisco TAC interaction. Integrated
with Cisco’s award-winning Technical Services, Smart Net Total Care helps you manage risk to business continuity, increase
operational efficiency, and resolve problems more quickly.
Q:
When will the new version be available?
A:
The new version will be available on the Smart Net Total Care portal on February 16.
Q:
Will I still be able to use the older version of the service?
A:
Yes. We want to ensure a smooth transition to the new version. Accordingly, you will be able to access both the existing portal and the
new 3.0 portal for an extended period following the “go live” date. This should provide you with time to migrate your workflows to V3.0 as
needed. All migration should be complete by May 2015.
Q:
Do I have to install a new collector to take advantage of the new interface?
A:
No, Smart Net total Care uses the same CSPC hardware and software collector appliance. No changes are required to take advantage
of the new capabilities and user interface.
Q:
Where can I get training materials on the new functionality?
A:
You can access “How-to” videos that provide basic training and job-specific information from within the portal “Useful Links” section.
There is also context-sensitive online Help files that provide immediate access from the portal screens to information on how to use the
Smart Net Total Care capabilities
Q:
How do I change the language I see on the portal screen?
A:
You can select the on-screen language by clicking on the “Worldwide (change)” link in the header bar of the portal screen, and
choose from the options displayed.
Q:
Will my company’s user profiles be the same in 3.0?
A:
Cisco will migrate all user profiles, and your current CCO-ID will work with the same access and privileges. You won’t have to do
anything additional to provide access to your Smart Net Total Care portal users.
Q:
Will I have to do anything to have my existing collected data be available in the new interface?
A:
No, Cisco will transfer one collection from each of the last two quarters to the new interface. You will be able to view report data in
either the 1.x or 3.0 portal.
Q:
When will access to the 1.x portal and its reports go away?
A: We are targeting May 1, 2015 to turn off access to the Smart Net Total Care 1.x portal. Q:
Where can I ask questions about the new release?
A: In the Smart Net Total Care customer community (http://bit.ly/community-‐sntc), which also contains documents and videos. © 2015 Cisco and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.
