the Capital City Classic at Frankfort High
School. The Eagles were

family of James “Jim”
“Sonny” Leach. He was
born June 16, 1926, a
son of the late James E.
“Jim” and Uva Ashby
Leach. In addition to his
parents, he was preceded
in death by three sons,
Kenny, Jerry and Larry
Leach; a grandson, Joey
Roth; and two sisters,
Louise Duckworth and
Sue Huruska. Survivors
include his wife, Mary
Jane Talbott Leach; a
son; three daughters;
ten grandchildren; and
12 great-grandchildren.
He was 88. My mom,
the late Beulah Moseley
Hillard, was distantly
related to him. We
would enjoy seeing him
and his sister, Louise,
at the Central Park
School Alumni Banquet.
The past two or three
years they hadn’t been
attending though. And,
now Louise is passed
away also. We enjoyed
talking to him and
he seemed to have a
good sense of humor.

be around Lynn a whole
lot. So more recently, she
has had a chance to be
around him, and to talk
to him some. And she
said, “you know, Lynn is
a very nice person.” So
Best Wishes to Sue and

I need to say something
about the proposed new
gym floor for OCHS,
which is supposed to be
put down this summer.
I know that during
the basketball games
Friday night a replica
of the floor was revealed
and it was also made
known that the new gym
floor was “in honor” of
Coach Charles “Rusty”
Albin. We can think of
no one more deserving.
He was my P.E. teacher
at Central Park School
in McHenry, when he
was first starting out.
He taught David also.
Then, when we were at
OCHS, there he was!
And then when Sam
started at OCHS, he
was still there! Sam
was certainly grateful
that he was! Sam and
he developed a very
special relationship. He
is one of Sam’s favorite
people! So, we are all
thrilled about this! We
love Coach A. and his
family, and we wish him
the best.
I received a call from
Paul Holland (of Milan,
Tennessee). It was good
to talk to Paul. He is
from McHenry. His
grandparents lived in
the house David and I
live in, the late Robert
B. “Burch” and Nola
Holland. Paul lived
here and grew up in
this house with them. I
hadn’t heard from him
in a long time. It was
good to hear from him.
I
would
like
to
welcome my cousin,
David Hillard, and his
wife Shirley to McHenry.
Really, it would be
welcoming David back
to McHenry. He is from
here and grew up here.
They have moved here
from Louisville. They
have moved in with my
cousin, Tom Hillard,
in the house where
my uncle and aunt,
(their parents), the late
Harvey and Lucille
Goodall Hillard had
lived. So, it’s good to
have David and Shirley
in McHenry.
As usual, there are sick
folks to be remembered
in prayer. Linda House
and her family need
our prayers very much.

Harder recently had
her tonsils removed.
She has had a pretty
rough time with this.

Goffs celebrate 50th
Roger and Rebecca (Embry) Goff celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary
this month. The couple was married on Jan. 2, 1965. The Goffs have three
children, three grandchildren and four (soon to be five) great-grandchildren.
They celebrated their special day with their family at Patti’s 1800s Settlement
and had a wonderful meal and a lovely anniversary cake.
