Mary and Larry Shumway, George and Cheri O’Brien along with many volunteers gave us a wonderful Christmas Eve Chili Feed and delicious Christmas Dinner.
Thanks to Sue, Ray, John and Jeanne along with everyone in the Christmas Program, you did a
great job. I do know I won’t be sharing my egg nog with Mary Gohl in the future. If you didn’t
attend the Christmas Program you won’t understand. Congratulations to all the winners in the
Christmas Decorating contest. I hope you were able to drive around the park. Everyone did such a
great job of decorating their units. It sure put us in the Christmas Spirit.
This is a good time to change all your Smoke Detector and Carbon Dioxide batteries. It only takes
a second and could save your life or that of a loved one.
Sundance 1 will be in the Quartzsite RV Show again this year January 17th through the 25th. Please
stop by our booth and say hi to John and Jeanne Thalman.

Sunday Worship & Fellowship…
SUNDAY Church service is a 8:30am each Sunday
in the Hole in the Wall. Pastor Scott Bailey will
lead us in worship again this year. Communion is
held the first Sunday of each month. Coffee will be provided
before Sunday Services.
We are making a few changes again this season. We have had
a meeting with Pastor Scott and the church board and will
not adopt a family for the 2014-2015 season. We will be doing several different things instead.
We are asking all you wonderful people to participate in the
Angel Christmas tree in the Activity Office in lieu of our former adopted family. More names have been added this year
so we really need your generosity.
We are also asking your help with a season long food drive by
bringing cans of food items to the Activity Office for the
C.G. food bank. Ray & Sheri met with employees of the
food bank to determine what their greatest need was.
Bible Study…
Welcome to a new year! Thursdays from 1 - 2:30 pm you are invited to
join us in the Hang Out room for our study of Angels. Since New Years
Day is Jan. 1, a Thursday, we will not meet that day but will start Jan. 8.
There are lots of interesting stories and scriptures to explore about visiting, protecting angels. We laugh a lot, struggle some with understanding, question meanings, wonder what would Jesus do, share experiences and hopefully come away with a better understanding of each lesson. Each person is allowed to just listen and absorb or share as God
leads. All levels of Bible experience are present and invited. We use a
study book that can be purchased either at the meeting or from me at
site 29 for $5.50. Hope to see you then!

Town Council News…
As in the past, we will continue to purchase supplies for the
school district nurses. It was done three times last season.
There is a large need for children’s underwear. Needed sizes
are girls 6-16 (or small ladies) and boy’s sizes 6-16. Drop off
site is in the Activity Office (laundry basket marked for this
use). We will have this drive all winter. If you have any questions, ask the host on duty, call me or drop by my site 267.
We service 13 schools in the area.
The December meeting was held on the 10th.
Most of the council members were present along with Sally Jo and
Steve Johnson. Paul Knapp was appointed to fill a vacancy. Several issues were discussed. A detailed copy of the minutes is posted in the Activities Office.
To all Sundance families: In January we will be holding a toy
drive the CG Hospital Children wing. So, please watch for
toys after the Christmas sale when they are on sale. Drop off
sities will be at church each Sunday and at site 267.

Dessert Theater…
After taking a year off, the Dessert Theater group is getting
ready for the performances in February. The cast for the play
has been selected and they are busy working on their parts.
There are still opportunities for you to get involved with Sets
& props, Desserts, Hostesses, etc.

Pickleball…
If you have been hearing the sound of balls bouncing, and lots
of laughter, it just might be “Sundance Picklers” enjoying our 8
new pickleball courts. The courts are open from 8:00 AM until
9:00 PM. See the schedule of Activities at the Court Door or in
the Activities Office. There is a “Court Host” available during
Scheduled Activities to line up games and mix partners a bit.
Activities Office has 8 paddles you can check out, and there are
balls at the courts. If you’ve never played before, or just want to
brush up on skills, we have Introductory Lessons and Drills on
Mondays at 9:00 and at 1:00. We’re a friendly group, and new
players are welcome.
We had our first meeting and Pot Luck on Dec. 16th and elected Officers for our club, and other volunteers. We also decided
to start a fund for replacing, purchasing, and maintaining equipment. Each player will pay a user fee of $10/season to play as
much or as little as desired. This begins in January. Come and
check it out. If you want to play, wear tennis shoes!

Zentangle Inspired Art…

pm in the new Sewing and Quilting Room. It is a casual atmosphere as people come and go throughout the day. We

heart desires: personal items such as dresses, pants, shirts,

Happy New Year!

horseshoe pits in the sports complex, we invite you to come out
and join us. We use the handicap system a little like bowling .For
some reason or another this year, the season started kind of slow

So hopefully we can improve on this by older players trying to

Celebrate the New Year at the Country Store January 2,

Happy New Year to all. Join us for the first Country Store of
2015 on Friday, January 2. Our vendors will have a wide selection of merchandise for you, your home and your hobbies.

''Reaching Forward'' a class on getting
the younger generation involved in genealogy.
The January 21st class will be a round
table discussion.
The TV program "Genealogy Roadshow"
will again be shown weekly starting
January 13th at 8:00pm on PBS. Be sure
and set your recorder to record
this series.
The Pinal County Genealogist will again
be conducting a Genealogy
Workshop on January 24th from 9:00am to
3:30pm.
The cost is $20.00 plus $5.00 for the
syllabus and the workshop is well
worth this small cost. These sessions
are held each year with different
classes to attend. You need to preregister for this workshop. To get

Sundance Parkflyers…
December has been a good month to fly, as there has been little
wind. Several flyers have been building some inexpensive planes
from plans. Most fly pretty good. Always good for a laugh, as you
never know what they are going to do on the first flight.One of
our flyers has a new quad copter that is really cool. It has GPS, so
it will return to the original spot. He has attached a camera and
taken some beautiful pictures. Several flyers went home for the
holidays and should be back by the time you read this. We fly every morning, weather permitting, around 8:00 over at Dave White
golf course, where Mike has prepared a nice runway for us, so it's
close. If any one is interested, you are welcome to join us,
whether to watch or fly. There is usually an experienced pilot willing to help or answer any questions you might have. We always
have a good time. I am in Sundance, Site #353 and my cell is 520208-1783. Submitted by, Keith Cronbaugh
R C Cars..
Racing is underway, with many of our racers already here, and
more arriving in January.
The new paved and banked oval track is exci"ng, very fast (a
full second faster lap "mes than our old dirt track), but presents different challenges.
Chassis setup is cri"cal, the track is consistent across the full
surface, but it's characteris"cs change with sunshine, temperature, and humidity, all of which we have experienced this
past month!
Our next project is to build a self funded drivers stand that
blends in with other improvements here at Sundance.
We expect to complete this stand by mid January.
As always spectators are welcome, interested par"cipants
should approach about trying a car, and seeking advice on
what to buy etc.
We race Monday and Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00, and
some"mes Friday.
We can be found between the shuffleboard courts and the
new pickle ball courts.

Arizona Group Travel…
Welcome back everyone, we hope you had a great Xmas & will have a very happy & healthy New Year. Jan. is now up on us, we have
2 trips scheduled for Jan., 3 day Laughlin trip & 1 day trip.
1. Jan. 11-13th (Sun-Tues), 3 day Laughlin Trip staying at Edgewater on the river. Cost; $104 per/person dbl occ., $134 single. This
includes room for 2 nights, 1 free buffet (your choice), luggage handling & round trip bus transportation. This is always a great trip.
2. Jan. 16th (Fri) Arizona Opry Dinner Theater. This will be the very popular Rock & Roll Show. Dinner will be @ 6;30 PM & show
7-10 PM. Cost is $70 per/person, this includes Dinner & Show & round trip bus transportation.
Cutoff date for Laughlin is DEC. 30th then a waiting list sheet will be put up & Arizona Opry cutoff date is Jan. 7th. with a waiting
list put up for it.
Feb.15-18th. (sun-tues) we have a 3day trip to Rocky Point Mexico (on the sea of Cortez) staying at the Playa Bonita Hotel on the
beach. We have to have all registration & money by Dec. 27th., as only a few busses are making this trip because of cost for license &
insurance. We will be going by All Aboard America so think this will be the last bus trip we will have to Rocky Point. The cost will be
$194 per/person dbl/occ., $264 single & $179 per/person triple/occ.. This will include room for 2 nights, 1 continental breakfast & 1
Complimentary Margarita, plus luggage handling & round trip bus transportation. We have 40 signed up so trip will go. REMEMBER
PASSPORTS OR VISA ARE NEEDED. This is a great trip, we have been going to Rocky Point many years & always relax & have
fun. Waiting list sheet will also be put up for this trip.
Mar. 8-10th (Sun-Tues) scheduled Las Vegas 3 day trip staying at the 4 Queens on Freemont St. downtown where the Laser Show is,
we always have a great time here, look for signup sheet very soon. Cost $139 per/person dbl/occ. & $175 single, this includes room
for 2 nights, 1 complimentary breakfast per person, 1 fun book per room, luggage handling & round trip transportation.
Our flyers to take are in the basket on top of the little red bus in activities & our signup sheets are on the wall above the bus.
Again, people from outside our park are welcome to go with us but they must sign up on our sheets & we will contact all on the signup sheets as soon as know we have enough people to make the trip a go.
We also have a table at the Country Store 1st. fri. of the month which will be Jan. 2nd. Plus in the newsletter each month plus each
Mon. morning coffee Klatch starting @ 8;30 AM in the Hole in The Wall ( this is where you will find out the happenings in the park).
There will also be an open house for all activities some time in Jan. so keep watch for this date (I will there also).

Sundance Quilters…
The quilters have been busy, busy, busy. There have been a number of new faces showing up to visit or sew. There have been
several of the overnight guests also coming in to use the room. Maybe that will entice them to stay longer or come back. Everybody is welcome.
Donna Bertrard #616 is the winner of the Quilt of Valor that was raffled to raise money for new storage cabinets. We have added two new cabinets, a design wall, and new bulletin boards. Things are looking good. Thanks for supporting us.
We had a great luncheon in December with 42 present. Tickets are now on sale for the January luncheon scheduled for Jan
21st. Come by the quilt room to purchase yours for $6.50, having correct amount would be helpful. Thanks for supporting us.

Shuffleboard…
Welcome again to all shuffleboard players.
We have some of the finest shuffleboards for all our
winter visitors to enjoy.
Scheduled play is Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday & Friday at 9:30 with Tuesday being bowling pin shuffle.
Mon. Wed. & Fri. you play for yourself.
Tuesday bowling pin shuffle is a team event with all
the yellow against all the black this is really a fun
time, lots of cheering and encouraging your team.
The shuffleboards are there for anyone to play anytime.
The cost .50 per person to play it's on your honor put
money in jar in shed.
If you don't know the game and want to learn ask we
will teach you.
The boards need proper care prior to play and taken
care of after play, we
will teach you that, just ask.
If the group wants, we will be having our annual single elimination shuffleboard tournament starting February 16.
Come out and enjoy. We have a great time.

Lone Butte/Wildhorse Casino Bus Schedule
for 2014-2015 Season…
The schedule is as follows:
Day Bus— Jan 5, Feb 9 and Mar 9
Night Bus—Jan 22
There is no cost to ride the bus. All riders receive a $10 free
slot play on their Player’s Card. The bus will take you to
either Wild Horse or Lone Butte Casino. If you want to
play Bingo, you must go to Lone Butte. Slots can be played
at either Casino Monday’s are Wild Horse Casino’s Senior
Day, so if you go there, you can get a food coupon at their
Player’s Club, in addition to the $10 free slot play.
The bus run originates at Sundance 1 RV Resort. Please
bring a picture ID and your Player’s Card. The Day Bus
Leaves the Activity Office at 10am; pickup at Fairways will
be a few minutes later. The bus will get back at approximately 4:30pm. The Night Bus will leave the Activity Office at 4pm and return approximately 10:30pm.
A Sign-up sheet will be available in the Sundance 1 Activity

I will walk, feed and visit with your pet.
This exciting class is being offered in 5-class segments. You
have to be available for all 5 classes to complete your project. Class dates are Jan 16, 23 & 30 and Feb 6 and 13th in
the Hang Out Room. The fee is only $22 which includes
the material. Be sure to sign up in the Activity Office soon
as the class size is limited to 10 people.

Phone usage: If calling from within the park on the park’s system, you only need 2+ the site number you are calling. If your site
number is only two digits, add a 0 before your site number – 2029 for site 29. If calling from your cell phone, you need 520-876-2+

Room Usage – Please leave rooms as you found them.
Ice Purchases – Bags of ice are $1.25 each payable in the Activities Office.
Vehicles – Cars, bicycles, and golf carts are to be driven on the roadways only. Resort rules do not allow them to be driven throughout the resort buildings. Please remember to use the bike racks.
Hole in the Wall temperature is based on the activity involved. Please remember to bring a sweater or jacket if you’re sitting still.
Attention Everyone!
What are you allergic to? If nothing congratulations! However, if you have
allergies you know how bad they can make you feel! As we all get older our
sense of smell is greatly affected especially by things that we all used to love.
Remember how romantic aftershave on your man or perfume on your lady
made you feel! WELL not anymore. Many of us in the park get headaches (yes
actual ones) or WORSE from the chemicals in the perfumes, lotions, soaps, etc.
We also are affected by any fragrances, even from flowers! Please, if coming
to any public room, do not use scented lotions, aftershave, perfumes etc. as you
never know when you’ll be asked to kindly wash it off. We love you but your
fragrant smell is killing us! Remember if you have used it for a long time, you
can’t smell it on yourself but others can smell you as soon as you arrive and
long after you are gone!
