Web : www.bmtf.com.bd INTRODUCTION Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory (BMTF) Ltd is one of the largest company enterprise of its kind in Bangladesh. It is located at Gazipur about 40km away from Dhaka. Administrative Building The factory has an area of 250 acres (about 101 hectares). It was commissioned on 11th February 1979. BMTF is a state owned limited company under the management of Bangladesh Army. BMTF is well equipped with variety of high production machineries & equipments for various engineering products. It has basic production facilities like casting, forging, machining, heat and surface treatment etc. It has thirteen large production shops along with administrative building, training school, residential area etc within the complex. Forge & Heat Treatment Shop This factory has enormous prospects to open up new avenues with products and services for local and foreign markets. Under the management of Bangladesh Army, BMTF is now reshaping itself to respond to the new challenges. Strict quality control of raw materials and testing at all stages of manufacturing ensure a continuous supply Casting in Cupola Furnace of super quality casting of international standard. All foundry operations and procedures are strictly monitored at each stage, executed by experienced foundry men and supervised by highly qualified metallurgists. Combining all these, the cast products of BMTF have already established a footprint in the market both for its quality and Mould Preparation competitive price. The foundries are served with 'In House' pattern making facilities equipped with lathe and milling machines both for wooden and metallic patterns. High Pressure Die Casting The Die Casting Plant of BMTF is capable of producing 1 million die cast parts per year. BMTF forging shop is probably the most vibrant area in the factory. With the supporting of die making and subsequent heat treatment facilities, the forged products of BMTF are of super quality. Almost all kinds of machining is possible in BMTF. The specialized machines enable BMTF for production of all kinds of gears, drills, taps and turning tools. The total capacity that can be generated is about half million machine hours per year. BMTF is equipped with different machines for testing the CFL bulbs of high standard. So far our products have been is supplied to Army (MES), Dhaka City Corporation and Khulna City Corporation. Efforts are being taken to get orders from different corporations/ institutions.
