She subsequently studied with former Kalakshetra senior teacher and Singapore cultural medallion recipient, Neila Sathyalingam and has expanded her repertoire with many choreographers. Roshni has performed with Neila Sathyalingam’s Apsaras dance company in group and solo performances in Singapore and abroad and in dance productions of the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society, including lead roles in their performances at the Music academy and at Kalakshetra in Chennai. She presented a solo dance for En Anubhavam, as part of the Esplanade’s 10th Anniversary celebrations. Her solo dance productions, Krishna Krida, Maya and One Light were very well received. He is the last direct disciple of the Late Shri Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar, the doyen of Carnatic Music. The all time great Mridangam maestro Shri. Palghat Mani Iyer was his mentor. Venkatesan was closely associated with him and received a great deal of guidance and encouragement from the maestro. Mani Iyer also accompanied Venkatesan in several concerts. He is now being groomed by Delhi Muthukumar, Chennai. The Society is devoted to the teaching of the classical arts in a non-formal environment. It began humbly, with just 12 members. Today it has a Principal, Academic Registrar and 25 full time teachers, over 1600 members and about 1750 students with panIndian curriculum has been on that has yielded many benefits. It has fostered home grown talent and created an awareness and understanding of the Indian Cultural Heritage, particularly valuable in the multi-ethnic Singapore.
