The 2015 Maryvonne Pinault Prize for a Temporary Garden at the festival “Dans les Jardins de William Christie” Competition for young landscape designers Creation of a temporary garden suitable for the performance of a mini concert during the promenades musicales at the 2015 edition of the festival Dans les Jardins de William Christie Deadline and entry requirements: ü Entries must be in electronic form and posted before March 15, 2015 on the website www.arts-‐florissants.com http://www.arts-‐florissants.com/main/en_GB/jardins-‐de-‐musique/competition-‐for-‐young-‐landscape-‐designers.html ü Requirements for entries: candidates must fill in the online questionnaire and attach a document that presents their project. This document must include: a statement of intent, a description of the project, a presentation drawing, an estimated budget, and a résumé. It must be in either Word or pdf and not exceed 5 MB. ü The winning scheme will be announced on April 15, 2015 on the website www.arts-‐florissants.com http://www.arts-‐florissants.com/main/en_GB/jardins-‐de-‐musique/competition-‐for-‐young-‐landscape-‐designers.html Brief: ü Goal The creation of a temporary garden suitable for the performance of a mini concert during the fourth edition of the festival Dans les Jardins de William Christie. ü Specifications An original, contemporary garden of 50–75 square meters suitable for the performance of a mini concert with an audience of around 50 people either standing or sitting on the ground. The estimated cost of realizing the garden must not exceed 5,000 euros (taxes and charges included). ü Realization of the garden By the winner during a two-‐week residency from July 27 to August 7, 2015. The temporary garden must be ready by August 7, 2015. ü Requirements for candidates The competition is open to young landscape designers under the age of 30: students enrolled on a landscape-‐design, horticulture or architecture course, young professionals, or amateurs of a sufficient level. A driving license and vehicle are required. Candidates must be available between July 27 and August 7 for the realization of the garden on site in Thiré. ü Place The temporary garden will be sited in William Christie’s gardens on the meadow behind the River Smagne (see photos below). The cost of travel and accommodation for the 15-‐day residency (July 27 to August 7, 2015) will covered, as well as the journey and accommodation for the festival’s opening on August 22, 2015. A budget of 5,000 euros (tax and charges included) is available for the garden’s realization (materials supplied by Pépinières Ripaud). ⇒
