LATE ENTRIES FOR FLOWERS will be accepted by telephoning 9454 5228 up to 9pm on Monday 23rd March. ENTRY FEES for Sections A to J are 50c per entry per class for first 30 entries. (Maximum cost $15). All additional entries free. Children’s entries are free. This does not include entries for the Agricultural Art Award which are $5 per entry (Limit of 3 entries per exhibitor). All entry fees as stated above must accompany the entry forms. The Society reserves the right of refusing, cancelling or accepting an entry without giving a reason for so doing. CHILD ENTRIES: A child being under 16 years of age on the day of the Show. All entries are accepted subject to these regulations and by-laws and the ordinary rules of the Royal Agricultural Society. PRESENTATION OF PRIZES to be held at the meeting of the Society on Wednesday, 13th May 2015, commencing at 7.30pm. Following the Show the Secretary will contact all prize winners. OPENING: Admission to the Exhibition Hall from 5pm Friday 27th and 10am Saturday 28th March 2015. EXHIBITS: Every exhibit must be the bona-fide property of the exhibitor and must have been grown, produced or made by the exhibitor. The whole arrangements as to position, classification and grouping of exhibits shall be under the control of the Society. No exhibit to be removed before 9am Sunday 29th March without permission of the Secretary. Arrangements may be made for collection of exhibits after closure of the Show at 9.00pm Saturday 28th March. All exhibits within the hall are the property of the Show Committee and any persons removing same before specified times will be dealt with as the Committee may think proper. Exhibitors only will be allowed to re-enter the hall, on production of exhibitors’ cards. To obtain their exhibits they must produce their card for the Section Steward before exhibits are removed. All exhibits must be in the hall at the times stated. 4 CONTROL OF EXHIBITS: Exhibitors shall arrange their exhibits under the direction of the Stewards and no exhibit shall afterwards be moved without the sanction of the Stewards, under a penalty not exceeding $10. The Society shall have the power to retain the exhibits of the exhibitor so fined until such fine is paid. The owner or exhibitor of any exhibit or stand of exhibits disapproved of as an exhibit by the Society must immediately remove such exhibit or stand of exhibits on notice to that effect. An exhibitor or attendant refusing to attach the Prize Card to any exhibit to which a prize is awarded and refusing to keep same during the hours of the exhibition, will on proof thereof to the Society, forfeit all prizes awarded to such exhibit during the Show and may be disqualified from again competing. One prize card only is issued for each prize won. Exhibitors will render themselves liable to a penalty of $10 for removing any official placard or ticket affixed or posted by the Stewards, or by refusing in any way to carry out instructions, and the Society shall incur no responsibility by enforcing regulations. The Society shall have the power to retain any or all exhibits until all fines are paid. DANGEROUS OR DISEASED EXHIBITS: Should the Society have any reason to suspect that any exhibit is dangerous or objectionable, it may have same removed, or refuse its admission to the hall. JUDGING In the event of there being no competition in any Class, a prize may be given if the judges certify to particular merit. Judges are requested to withhold prizes, even where there is competition, if the exhibits are of inferior description or are not suitable for the Class in which they are competing. Judges may award a second prize or third prize instead of a first, or they may divide a prize. CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS: In making these awards the judges may select from any exhibits. POINTS: The Society’s scale of points is: First Prize – 3 points; Second Prize – 2 points; Third Prize – 1 point; Champion – 3 extra points; Best Exhibit – 2 extra points. In all sections (excepting children’s classes) at least 8 points must be obtained before a trophy is awarded. PROTESTS: All protests must be given in writing to the Secretary, accompanied by a fee of $10, before 8.30pm, Friday 27th March. The money shall be absolutely forfeited to the funds of the Society if the protests on due consideration be deemed unfounded or frivolous. Any prize which may be withheld in consequence of any valid reason shall be forfeited to the Society. Should any exhibitor, having gained a prize, be disqualified (either by protest or for any other reason) the next on the list does not necessarily obtain such prize. The Society, with or without the advice of the judge, shall decide the question. SOCIETY’S LIABILITY: Every reasonable care will be taken of exhibits, but no responsibility will be incurred by the Society. Ordinary precautions will be taken to guard against fire and to protect the property of the Society and the exhibits, but exhibits will not be insured at the expense of the Society. The Society will not be responsible for any accident that may be caused through or by the exhibits or exhibitors and it shall be blameless and indemnified against any legal proceedings arising from such accidents. 5 Persons contravening any of the Society’s rules or regulations shall forfeit any prize which may have been awarded to them. All persons entering any events do so at their own risk. All other By-Laws, Regulations and Rules of the Society are the same as those of the Royal Agricultural Society with which this Society is affiliated. Any person creating a disturbance or misdemeanour may be requested to leave the hall at the Stewards’ discretion. The winning painting from each of the participating Agricultural Societies or approved art groups will be eligible for this Award which carries a total prize pool of $2,900. ********************** 2015 KALAMUNDA SHOW: First Prize $100 Second Prize $50 ENTRY FEE: $5 per entry. LIMIT OF 3 ENTRIES PER EXHIBITOR Any entry must not exceed 125cm x 125cm x 10cm depth, including any attached format of framing, nor exceed 15kg in overall weight. All artworks must be the artist’s own original, unaided work, and must not in any way have areas that have been copied from a published article; and must have been executed within a two year period prior to the date of pre-selection judging. Exhibits must not have competed at a previous Kalamunda Show. Diptych or Triptych art works may be accepted for competition providing their combined size complies as set out above. All artworks must be suitably presented for hanging. If not formal frames, canvas based artwork must be executed on stretched canvas with the staples on the back of the stretchers, not the side. All works on paper must be professionally presented with formal metal or wood outer frames, art glass or similar cover, with acid free mounts and backings.
