Saturday, January 31st Deuteronomy 1:1 - 4:43 NOMINATING COMMITTEE BEGIN THEIR WORK This Sunday, the Nominating Committee will distribute an “Interest Survey” giving members of our church family the opportunity to complete and return on Sunday, February 8th. As “Members of The Body of Christ”, we have the privilege and the responsibility to serve. There are steps to Discipleship for every believer. What fruit and abilities has God given you to “build up” the Body of Christ and glorify your Lord? “Who is this Jesus?” “Who is this Man?” * * * * * The name “Jesus” is arguably the most controversial, polarizing name out there. “only begotten” - the only one “in the beginning” - at the creation “death on the cross” - to set us free “grace and peace” - God’s gift to us “redemption and return” - to claim us Though Jesus “did” a lot of things, Jesus “God’s Character Reflected” - Pastor Mike was the only Son of God! Deuteronomy 4:44 - 6:25 Taken from Holy Vocabulary, Michael Kelley A WORD FROM YOUR PASTOR Personal testimonies are powerful tools that can be used by God to touch the hearts of many. Last Sunday it was our privilege to listen to the testimonies of four of our men: Alan Harper, Larry Long, Randy Rinehart and Monte Robertson. Each testimony was genuine, sincere and straight from the heart. Each man shared how God in Jesus Christ had changed and transformed his life and family. What a blessing it is to hear of the great things that God has done and is doing! Amen? On a Sunday morning, October 7, 1962, my walk with Christ began. As a boy, God spoke to my heart. I realized that I was a sinner and that Jesus Christ died for me on Calvary’s cross. I asked Christ to be my personal Savior. Jesus saved me that very day. I knew Jesus! On that Sunday, I came home from church with a “diamond in my pocket.” I sensed its value and was swallowed up in a new romance. I moved inside a new affection. I loved not so much what I owned, but I loved who owned me. And in that double love, I was set free. That is my personal testimony. We all have one, if we have trusted in Jesus to save us. May I ask you: Do you have a personal testimony? Would you mind sharing it with someone? Read the following words as if you are hearing them for the first time: Stand up, stand up for Jesus, Ye soldiers of the cross; Lift high His royal banner, It must not suffer loss: From victory unto victory His army shall He lead, Till every foe is vanquished, And Christ is Lord indeed. Stand up, stand up for Jesus, Stand in His strength alone; The arm of flesh will fail you, Ye dare not trust your own: Put on the Gospel armor, Each piece put on with prayer; Where duty calls or danger, Be never wanting there. Stand up, stand up for Jesus, The strife will not be long. . . What’s your personal testimony? I will see you on Sunday! Stand up for Jesus.
