Job Title: Process Development Associate Scientist/Scientist
PsiOxus Therapeutics Ltd is an Oxford based development stage biotechnology company
developing novel therapeutics with a particular focus upon cancer. We currently have two
products in phase I/II clinical development and an innovative pipeline of research stage
candidates.
We have an exciting opportunity for a scientist with experience in process development to join
us and be part of a development team responsible for delivering improvements to the
manufacturing process for our present clinical stage oncolytic vaccine as well as the next
generation of viral cancer therapies. The successful candidate will report to the VP
Pharmaceutical Development and thrive in a creative and fast-paced environment. By taking
responsibility for key aspects of process development and supporting our R&D activities you
will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of techniques from the culture of viruses,
cell lines, up-stream & down-stream development and use of biological and immunological
assays to assess the manufactured product.
Applicants must have a relevant life sciences degree followed by a minimum of one year
demonstrable practical experience of mammalian cell culture & small scale (3 – 5 L) bioreactor
manufacture. A proficient understanding of the bioreactor controller is also desirable. Proven
ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a team is essential, together with clear
attention to detail and an ability to meticulously and independently follow protocols, carry out
and record experiments.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and diligent in their approach to work and have
one or more of the following desirable additional experience and skills: small-scale purification,
optimisation and scale-up of purification processes and experience of analytical assays (e.g.
HPLC, immunoassays, cell-based infectivity assays).
