Dear SCPS Friends and Family,
I’m wiring to invite you to the South County Pre-Kindergarten Cooperative’s biggest annual event. This year’s
Denim & Diamond Auction Dinner & Dance will be held March 21st at the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek
Orthodox Church on Riva Road in Annapolis at 6pm. Tickets are $40 each and available for purchase at
southcountyprek.com under the ‘About Us’ tab. We are striving to make the Co-Op auction an event current
and alumni families can’t wait to attend each year. Please invite others and join us for great food, great deals,
and a great night out with friends for a great cause!
If you have or know of any items that could be placed in the auction please let us know! Current SCPC families
are busy gathering donations now and would greatly appreciate your donation of items to be auctioned.
This year the SCPC will award the second annual Legacy Award. The alumni sponsored Legacy Award
recognizes an individual in our community for their outstanding commitment to the positive development of
young children. All donations to this award directly benefit the SCPC in honor of the award recipient.
Nominations and donations for the Legacy Award are being accepted on the school’s website. Any current or
alumni family member may submit a nomination. The Legacy Award honoree will be chosen by the SCPC
Board of Directors and announced at the Denim & Diamonds auction on March 21st.
In order to address the needs of families in our area the SCPC has embraced exciting program changes for the
coming 2015-2016 school year. We hope having more options to choose from will help meet the needs of a
wide variety of family schedules. Word of mouth has always been the number one method of advertising for the
SCPC – please help us spread the word about the school and the new opportunities including longer class times
and additional class days each week. That which we all love most about the SCPC will stay the same -- the
same great teachers with 20 years experience as a teaching team, the iconic crafts, the parent led Co Op model
and learning through play curriculum that has proven to inspire a lifelong love of learning. Registration is open
and all program opportunities can be found on the SCPC website. Tell everyone to visit southcountyprek.com
for details. We are happy to host private tours for any family interested in learning more.
Finally, we are working to improve our Alumni database. SCPC was founded nearly 40 years ago – long before
email! We want to keep in touch with you in an economical way once or twice a year. Please help us by
registering online or on the form provided as an Alumni Family.
