Welcome to the brand new Ardmore Global Education Centre in South Africa!
2015 sees our new facility come online at Shamwari game reserve just 11/2 hours from Port Elizabeth.
Formerly a 4* Safari lodge, the Global Education Centre (GEC) is Ardmore’s brand new base for our
signature experiences, including English & Wildlife, conservation and community projects. The GEC
is available all year round for closed groups and hosts an Ardmore English language summer school
throughout July and into August. But hurry, spaces are strictly limited.

A TYPICAL DAY WITH ARDMORE
Students have three hours of English lessons per day from Tuesday
to Saturday. Lessons will be taught in English and based around wildlife
and conservation. Students will also learn African culture, sustainability
of planet Earth and local community life as well as life in less privileged
communities.
During activities we offer a wide range of options depending on
season and wildlife activity. These can include leopard tracking, rhino
monitoring, visiting the Born Free Big Cat Sanctuary, medicinal plants
and tree identification, animal behaviour and approach, an introduction
to conservation management or a full day excursion to Port Elizabeth.
The evening entertainment includes: pool party, fireside story telling,
African dance, film night, evening observation and many more options.
Emphasis on communication helps students to use English for a variety
of purposes and in various situations. Our aim is to build students’
knowledge and confidence in understanding and speaking English and
their understanding of the world we live in.
