Youth Week
I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me
that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will
be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to
you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it
must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

outh Week 2015 is here (April 11 - 19).
Based on the scripture text above, the
theme for this year is “Who Am I?”. This will
be a significant time in the lives of our young
people and congregation. Please be in prayer
for our students as they prepare to lead each
of us to ask, “Who Am I?”. The youth will
lead Prayer, Praise, and Proclamation on
Wednesday, April 15, at 6:00 p.m. Sunday,
April 19, they will lead worship in both
morning services and teach Sunday Bible
Study classes. Sunday evening they will conclude the week by leading us in a
worship service at 6:00 p.m.
Our young people want to illustrate to the Ardmore church family how important
it is to be a follower of Christ. They will focus on the victory Christ gives us, the
strength that is ours because of Christ’s presence in our lives, and the inheritance
that we are given as a gift from God and not something we have earned.

Peru Mission Trip
e in prayer for the volunteers from
Ardmore and Knollwood who will
be staffing a Medical/Dental Clinic in
Peru, April 17 - 26. Ardmore folks are:

Nguyen, Kathy Stewart, and Brent
and Jennifer Willard.
Future
he fourth “F” stands for Future - the future God has in store for us. As in a
relay race, the end of one lap becomes the beginning for the next. The challenge for us as we approach this finish line becomes discerning God’s next plans
for us. What is our vision beyond bricks and mortar? What is it that God wants us
to do next? How can we use our facilities to build up the Kingdom? Will we use
it as a missional base for impacting our community and changing lives? Securing
Our Future was another campaign theme along the way. Retiring this loan will,
in fact, secure our future, but it will also be a key to open the door to that future.

Celebration Lunch Coming May 3!
y now you are aware of our Let’s Finish initiative to pay off our building
loan. Sunday, May 3, we will have one service at 10:45 a.m. to offer our
commitments to the Lord. Following the service, we will join together for a lunch
catered by Prissy Polly’s. There will be no cost for this meal, but we need you to
make reservations by Monday, April 27. Menu choices are BBQ or grilled chicken
and all the fixin’s. A children’s meal will be available. Make reservations by
clicking on the link in churchwide e-mails* that are being sent, or by calling the
church office. When you make your reservations, please indicate your meal preference as well as the number of adults and number of children under 12. We look
forward to seeing you at the Finish Line on May 3.

Narthex Frieze Renewed
T
he “Bible storyline” frieze work
in our narthex, created by Barry
Parks, has been reproduced in metal to
extend its life well into the future. The
original coraplast material was beginning to show its age and we didn’t
want to lose this unique feature of our
sanctuary. We are grateful to Jeff McIntyre and Tyler Talton of McIntyre
Metals for their assistance and generosity in making this upgrade possible.
This is a gift that will help us continue
telling the biblical story from one generation to the next.

Community Impact and Global Connections Ministry Area
he Community Impact & Global Connections Ministry Area seeks your
prayers as we explore sponsoring a Christian Women & Men’s Job Corp
ministry. You may have questions such as:
♦♦ What is CWJC/CMJC? The purpose of CWJC/CMJC is to provide a
Christian context in which women and men in need are equipped for life and
employment; and a missions context in which women help women and men
help men. Women and men receive training in life skills and job readiness.
♦♦ What makes CWJC/CMJC different from other job-readiness programs?
Each participant is involved in Bible study and is matched with a trained
Christian woman or man who will mentor the participant as she/he travels the
path from dependency to self-sufficiency.
♦♦ How long does it take to begin a site? Usually it takes 12 - 18 months to get
a site operating.

“My father was at the KBR house
[hospice] in September of 2013. We
kept around-the-clock vigils, with a
family member always holding his
hand. As he slipped into a coma, I
found the little heart-shaped pillow in
the bag and discovered that it fit between
our palms perfectly. We held that little
pillow together, and I continue to carry
that pillow with me today. Thank you
so much for giving me a way to hold
on to a tiny bit of my Daddy! What
you do matters!”

transportation of older adults, minor
home repairs as well as visitation and
respite care.
Over 1,600 older adults are served
through the program and volunteers
are the key to enabling them to remain
independent in their own homes.
