Special thanks to Darlene Wilder and Debbie Connell who, with their kitchen volunteers made everything go smoothly. We wish to thank our House Committee Chairman, Debbie Farris, whose tireless effort and hard work helped make the whole holiday season a success at the Lodge from Thanksgiving through New Year’s she was on top of it all and made sure that things ran smoothly. Thanks to you, Debbie. We also wish to take the time to thank Jim Wilder and Anthony Montecalvo for their hard work on getting the outside lighting up and running. We had some problems and they were able to find and fix the issues. We hope to see everybody at our Super Bowl Party on February 1 st. We will have the Lodge room set up with seating for the big screen. Food and gaming is available by Jim Wilder. All three televisions in the bar will be up and running. Come root for your favorite team and buy a bottomless mug of your favorite draft beer for five dollars. See you then. One of our most important events is our Harry-Anna Sweetheart Dance. This is a fund raiser for Harry-Anna which is near and dear to every Elk. The number of children who get therapy from this fund is phenomenal. Kids who would never receive the physical therapy for lack of funds can receive it free from Harry-Anna. We would hope that this event will be our biggest turnout for the year. The Lodge will match dollar for dollar donations to the Harry-Anna Trust Fund that night. We are looking for volunteers to work a few Wednesdays a month in the Bingo hall. The same people have been doing it for quite awhile. We need some people to alternate with to help. If you are interested please let Renee Pfeifer know what kind of availability you have. If anybody is interested in calling bingo please let me know, this would be for Wednesday or Thursday nights. All help would be appreciated. “IT’S GREAT TO BE AN ELK” Fraternally, Terry Anderson EXALTED RULER The XI Point Elk Hour is published monthly by Seminole Elks Lodge 2519, 10717 Seminole Blvd., Seminole, FL 33778 The Chaplain’s Corner Lou Atti, PER Every hour of the day is an unspeakably perfect miracle. L.O.E. President’s Message January was a slow month for the ladies. However, we did have a good representation at our January meeting. Many things were discussed, functions, nomination committee for next years election, and appointments to the auditing committee. The Harry Anna Sweetheart Dinner Dance will be held on February 14th. Jan will be representing the ladies for the donations to the heart and a raffle This will help with our donations to Harry Anna for the year. Remember the membership meeting is on 2/2/15, Groundhog Day. Be like the groundhog and make yourself visible at this meeting. Next month on Sunday March 16, the ladies Fashion Show will be held. A few changes were voted on for this event. We will have a lunch and raffle, but will not longer have the calendar tables. More on this function will be discussed at the February meeting.
