Food and drink available No pre-registration needed MESSAGE FROM YOUR EXALTED RULER Dear Members, A lot of great things going on at the Lodge last month. It started out with our very wet Golf Tournament that only lasted six holes. The lunch and prizes at the end at the Lodge were well received. My thanks to Jack Noonan and his group for all their hard work. Most exciting I think is our new sign. Leon Struthers was our point man on the sign and did an outstanding job with the rest of his crew Ken Yagoda and Mario Ferfoglia. The new sign is twenty feet in the air and has a three by eight foot LED sign just below the Elks sign. The donations we received towards the sign helped greatly, however we could still use some additional donations by the members to help fund it. Anything at all would be appreciated whether its five dollars or five hundred it would help replenish our building fund. The honorable Leslie Waters Mayor of Seminole honored us by issuing a proclamation that the week of October 23rd till October 31st is Red Ribbon Week in honor of our drug awareness program. Elroy, the Drug Awareness Elk Visiting Seminole Elementary School with his handler district chair for drug awareness Ms. Debbie Farris and Lodge Chair for Drug Awareness Dolores Rosener on Friday morning October 24th the reception by the children was great. That evening they were also present at the recreational center where Carolyn Smith Chairman of government relations and Dolores Rosener chairman of Drug Awareness with the assistance of PER Leon Struthers, Trustee Fran Paulina, Leading Knight Roy Broff, Lecturing Knight Linda Broff, with the Assistance of Elks Fran Rice and Dee Runyon who handed out candy, stuffed animals and Red Ribbons to over eleven hundred children attending Seminoles Field of Screams in the park. Many of the children who had seen Elroy at school that morning were in attendance and wanted pictures with him. The adults, especially the mothers, wanted to get in on the picture taking. This was an outstanding event that put the spotlight on our Lodge. Thank you, one and all for this great effort.
