ADDRESS SERVICE REQUESTED
February 1 –
Director’s Line
Once again, it’s time to start thinking about the Rose Awards,
the annual awards ceremony honoring front-line employees of
our region’s tourism industry.
Sponsored by the Tourism Council of Greater Cincinnati, or
TCGC, “Rose” is the acronym for “Recognition of Service
Excellence.” The mission of this awards program is to
recognize those individuals who provide excellent service
– beyond the normal call of duty – to visitors of Greater
Cincinnati, Southeast Indiana and the Tri-State region.
Potential nominees have one-on-one contact with tourists,
convention delegates, business travelers and meeting
planners. Or they are behind-the-scenes people who
positively influence a visitor’s experience in our area.
They represent their companies and our community as true
ambassadors of good will.
Nominations may be submitted by employers and immediate
supervisors, or by other individuals who know of worthy
candidates. Nominees are limited to front-line staff who have
direct contact with visitors to Greater Cincinnati, Southeast
Indiana and the Tri-State region.
This year, the 2015 Rose Awards Banquet will be held on
Thurs., April 23 at the Duke Energy Convention Center. For
more information on the Rose Awards, or for a nomination
form, please contact David Freeman at 513-721-8687 or visit
www.tcgconline.com. The deadline for nominations is Fri.,
February 20.

A round-up of the latest travel news and tourism trends…
Planning a road trip this year? We’ve got some good
news for you! According to AAA, gasoline prices will
continue to remain low in 2015 due to a dramatic
slide in global crude oil prices. In fact, gas has
tumbled to lows not seen since May 2009, with U.S.
motorists paying on average a price that is forty
percent lower than the 2014 peak.
