Requesting a Coaching Course *All coaching course requests must be made 60 days in advance of the course start date. Go to www.coachcentre.ca Enter your login information (email address and password) in the login box in the top right hand corner Complete your club contact details Choose ‘Course Management’, then ‘Add Course’ Complete the fields, and click ‘Next’ Course Type: - Open means anyone can register. - Private means only those coaches with the registration code can register. You create this code and distribute it to the coaches Payment Model: - Club Pays means the club will pay for and be invoiced for all coaches that use the payment code you set. You create a payment code and distribute it to your coaches. - Student Pays means the coach must pay their own registration fees. - Both means both the payment code you set and provide to the coaches will be accepted, AND coaches who don’t have your payment code can pay their own registration fees. Complete the fields regarding course start times and location, etc. and click ‘Next’ You can request the instructor if you prefer a specific instructor. BC Soccer will assign. Find the location of the course on the map, and click on the location to place a marker. Click ‘Next’ Review all course details and click ‘Confirm’ 2 12. Please allow up to two weeks for BC Soccer to review your course request and assign a learning facilitator. If your course request is approved it will be open for registration. If it is declined you will receive an e-mail stating why it was declined. You may request the course again making the necessary changes. To EDIT your course If any course details need to be changed, go to ‘Course Management’ then ‘View Course’ then ‘Edit’. To VIEW your CLASS LIST Go to ‘Course Management’ then ‘Class List’. To CONTACT your INSTRUCTOR Go to ‘Course Management’ then ‘Facilitators’. What a COURSE HOST (You) must Provide Classroom Field Classroom with tables and chairs to seat 25 Minimum ½ soccer field (55x75 yards) TV + HDMI cable or LCD projector 2 Goals (moveable preferred or use poles) Screen or flat wall to project 20 soccer balls (size 4-5) Power / extension cords Markers / disks (approx. 40) Medical kit Pinnies / bibs (2 colours of 10 each) Learning Facilitator Assignment BC Soccer will assign the Learning Facilitator. You may request the Learning Facilitator in the “facilitator requested” field when you request the course. Delivery BC Soccer and the Canadian Soccer Association have outlined the preferred method of delivery as being OPTION”A” for the following courses. It is also preferable (if possible) to have both field and classroom available for the duration of the entire course so the course Facilitator has that flexibility. The club/district will be invoiced once the course has been marked by the facilitator. Learning Facilitators do not accept payment at the course. Hosts should not collect payment at the course. NO PAYMENT WILL BE TAKEN AT THE COURSE. Course Participant Maximums and Minimums The minimum and maximum participant numbers were established by BC Soccer in conjunction with the Canadian Soccer Association. All courses require a minimum of 15 participants and a maximum of 22 participants. When minimum registration numbers have not been met the course will be CANCELLED 5 working days prior in the lower mainland and CANCELLED 10 working days prior in outlying regions. If clinic registration minimums have been met in the coach management system and class lists do not reflect the minimum numbers, or if the course proceeds with less then minimum numbers, the District Association, League, or club host will be invoiced for the minimum number of participants Refund Policy In the event a paid registrant cannot attend a course, registrants may transfer to a course of equal level, with the same payment model as the original course (i.e.; Student Pay course), before the course starts, or within 18 months after the original course start date. If there is no appropriate course to transfer to, refunds of course fees will be issued upon request by emailing [email protected] no later than 90 days after the course start date. 4 The refund e-mail request must include the following details: • Full Name of Registrant • Full name of Original Payee (i.e.; credit card holder name) • Who the refund should be made payable to • Current Mailing Address • Course level, location course number, payment confirmation (receipt) • Reason for refund request Approved refunds will be issued via cheque within 45 days of request date. The system user fee paid on all courses is non-refundable, with the exception of courses cancelled by BC Soccer. Additional Information As of January 2014, completion of the Soccer for Life course is the minimum coaching requirement for coaching in Provincial Cup (please refer to Provincial Cup Competitions rules) The old Community courses (Childrens, Youth and Senior courses) are not recognized for any competition or leagues as of January 2014 and have ceased to exist since 2012 Completion of the Soccer for Life course is the pre-requisite for coaches interested in registering for the B License Pretest course 5
