MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR OF LETHBRIDGE
On behalf of Lethbridge City Council, it is my pleasure to welcome
seniors and their families from throughout Alberta to our City.
Lethbridge, along with Castle Mountain and Allison Creek ski areas,
is honoured to serve as hosts for the 2015 edition of Alberta 55 Plus
Winter Games
Lethbridge has long been recognized for the strength of its
Volunteer sector; a crucial factor for any community hosting a
province-wide event. I have no doubt that the Volunteer base
assembled for these games will once again shine, making this event a
very successful one. My sincere appreciation for their efforts.
An event like this brings people together, creates memories and
forms new friendships. I’m certain that each of you will have
many memorable moments to reflect upon after the Games have
concluded.
Best of luck to all the competitors and Volunteers! I hope you enjoy
some spirited competition, but most of all…. Have Fun !!

MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTORS AND CHAIRS OF VOLUNTEERS
All of us would like to say a big “Thank You!” The time has arrived
to appreciate your commitment and diligence in preparing for the
Lethbridge 55 Plus Alberta Winter Games. We are as ready as we can
be and knowing that your time and dedication will produce many
wonderful moments, we are sure that all will be able to take pride in
the success of the Games.
We recognize that there already are moments and memories to
cherish from working casinos and fundraising, participating in
meetings, set up and organizing or just spreading the word about
the Games. Volunteers are a priceless asset and events like these
do not happen without you. Please take the time to enjoy everyone
coming together at these games in support of a healthy and positive
environment in which families and friends from across Alberta can
celebrate.
We hope you will join us at the Volunteer Appreciation Night on
Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 5 p.m. in ENMAX Centre. Dinner
and entertainment will be provided, including music by Southern
Alberta’s own, the great Trevor Panczak. Another well-known local
personality, Bob Balog will MC the event which should provide a
great opportunity to celebrate and share your experiences of the
games.
Thank you also for supporting our Games Vision: To inspire all ages
to engage in a healthy lifestyle through sport, recreation and culture,
while creating memories, fun, friendships and community spirit.
You as a Volunteer make this Vision possible.
With much appreciation and best wishes,
Directors of Volunteers,
Michelle Day and Knud Petersen.
