Byrd Curriculum Fair
Thursday, February 5 ~ 7 p.m.
The Byrd Curriculum Fair will be held on Thursday, February 5, at 7 p.m.
in the gym. The evening is designed for students to explore elective
choices and for parents to ask questions about academic and elective
offerings.
Box Tops Contest
Please send in your Box Tops by February 19
Byrd Daily Announcements
It's time for another Box Tops contest! Please send in your Box Tops to
your Block 1 class by February 19. The Block 1 class in each grade that
brings in the most Box Tops will win a Popcorn Treat. There will be three
winning classes - one from 6th, 7th and 8th grade. A bag has been
placed in each Block 1 classroom to collect your Box Tops.
When clipping Box Tops, please make sure the expiration dates are
visible, and that the Box Tops are not expired. To get a complete list of

PTA Italian Dinner & Silent Auction
Friday, February 27
Join us for an evening of fantastic food, wonderful entertainment
& an exciting silent auction! Entertainment provided by the
Byrd Music Department & Step and Dance Teams.
DJ Michael Cangelosi will provide the tunes.

4 p.m. Silent Auction begins
5 p.m. Senator's Boys vs. Girls Basketball Game
5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Italian Dinner
Ticket Prices:
$5 per person in advance / $7 at the door

Virginia Lottery Super Teacher
Nominations must be received by midnight on February 13, 2015
2015 Super Teacher nominations are now open! Nominate your
favorite Virginia K-12 Super Teacher by 2/13/15 to help
honor outstanding Virginia public school teachers who go the extra
mile! Eight teachers from across the state will be selected to receive the
Virginia Lottery Super Teacher award. Each of the eight winners will
receive a $2,000 cash prize from the Virginia Lottery, and a $2,000
classroom supply credit from The Supply Room Companies.

Byrd PTA
Recording Secretary needed!
Our PTA Recording Secretary and her family have moved and we would
like to fill her position. (Many thanks, Kyra! We will miss you!) The PTA
board meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The
Recording Secretary is responsible for recording the minutes of the
organization (to include Executive Committee meetings, Executive
Board meetings, general membership meetings, and special sessions)
and submitting the completed minutes to the President and Board
members.
Serving on the PTA board is a wonderful way to get involved at Byrd. If
you would like to serve as Recording Secretary or would like further
information, please contact Ben Smith, PTA President. Thank you for
your consideration!
