February – March 2015
GOVERNOR’S CORNER:
Hello Everyone,
2015 is here and our lodge is moving forward!
Congratulations to Stephan Perichak for winning the Ugly Christmas sweater contest.
Second place ended up in a tie between Kris Olesky and myself. The kid’s and adult’s
Christmas parties were both a success. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped with
the parties. Our lodge looked very beautiful for the Holidays. Thank you to Joyce and Joe
Pazur, Trish Acalotto and my wife Patty for decorating. Also, thank you to all who
contributed to the USMC Toys for Tots program and to Sue Gray for organizing the program
for our lodge. It was a success!
Congratulations to Bree Acalotto for winning the District 10 karaoke competition! She will
be traveling to Gettysburg for the PMA Convention’s competition. She will compete there for
a chance to go to Nashville for the International competition at the convention this summer.
GOOD LUCK BREE!!!
Coming on February the 7th we will have the “Nearly Newlyweds Game” in the lodge. The
winners this year will receive free dinner to our Legion’s Valentine’s Day dinner which will be
upstairs in the lodge on the 14th. Anybody can sign up for the dinner now in the lodge. See
the bartender to do so. It will be decorated as a formal restaurant. You will be seated for a
very enjoyable night out with your Valentine.
Beginning Ash Wednesday February the 18th, we will kick off our Lenten fish fry which will
then run every Friday during Lent. All help is appreciated. Come out and enjoy our famous
fish!
March 6th through the 8th a few of us officers will be traveling to Gettysburg for the PMA
(Pennsylvania Moose Association) convention. We will bring back any and all of the new
information that we receive.
Watch for our St Patty’s Day celebration on March 14 th. We will have Irish specials and
karaoke at 9:00PM. Also, keep your calendars handy for all of the lightning bingos
throughout the months.
Please keep in mind that our lodge is an old building and we are facing many repairs. We
just replaced the main sewer trap in the building. The roof is in need of repairs along with
some masonry work that needs done outside. Inside of the lodge we are working on
repairing the ladies room and the bar area. Anyone who can help in any way, please see
one of the officers.
Fraternally yours,
John Runt
Governor
