DEKALB COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT HOSTS THE 2ND ANNUAL
MALES EMPOWERMENT CONFERENCE
WHO:
The conference is a joint partnership between The DeKalb County School District,
100 Black Men of DeKalb County and Radio One
WHAT:
DeKalb County School District is hosting its 2nd annual Males Empowerment
Conference. This year’s theme, "I am My Brother’s Keeper and My Child’s Supporter," focuses
on the major behaviors that cause academic difficulty and social challenges for young
males. The event will also serve as a forum for fathers and male role models to increase the
understanding of their role in educating their children.
Workshops will include: The Father Factor ● Parents As First Teachers ● I Am A Winner ● Your
Attitude Determines Your Altitude ● You Can Make It If You Try ● Life Is What You Make It ●
The Code ● There Are No Problems Just Opportunities ● Your Friends Or Your Future ● Not
Your Father’s Street Corner ● To Be Popular or Smart ● Using Technology to Be a Better Parent
