Minimum Processing Requirements for Quality

Dear Valued Customer,
Alfe Heat Treating, Inc. is changing an internal practice on what we require at a minimum to be on your
incoming paperwork for parts that require heat treating.
We will require the following:
 Paperwork to clearly identify the part number
 Incoming alloy and temper
 Quantity of parts
 Outgoing temper you want the part heat treated to
 If lot numbers, serial numbers or heat numbers traceability is required then these numbers must
be on the incoming paperwork
 Any specifications with revision letters i.e.: AMS2770L, AMS-2771E etc. (if required)
 If parts are to a specification i.e.: AMS2770, AMS2771, MILH6088 then Alfe requires a formal
purchase order. Incoming packing slips etc. will not be enough to release the parts to run.
 Any special requirements you want: specific recipe, specific hardness, specific packaging etc.
If parts are received and this information is not on the paperwork we will have to put the parts on hold
and contact you. While we understand this may be an inconvenience, this practice is in an effort to
continuously improve and mistake proof our processes to ensure Alfe processes your parts correctly.
If you have any questions please feel free to call me to discuss.
Sincerely,
Michelle Carver
