Greetings Brothers and Sisters In Christ,
We the Faith In Action Scholarship Pageant Committee are pleased to inform you of Greater Charleston’s 1st
Annual Tri-County Christian Youth Scholarship Pageant to be held in the area on Saturday, November 14,
2015, 4:00-9:00pm. at Sterrett Hall Auditorium 1530 7th St. Charleston SC 29405 on the Old Navy Base.
We are inviting and encouraging all High School Rising Seniors both male and female 16 through 18 years of
age to enter.
The only other requirement is that the applicant be sponsored by a Christian based organization, for example, a
church, school, ministry, Christian Corporation or non-profit group.
The Scholarship Awards are as follows:
First Prize Scholarship
$1000
Second Prize Scholarship $700
Third Prize Scholarship
$500
Fourth Prize Scholarship $300
Fifth Prize Scholarship
$200
The scholarship awardees will also receive numerous other gifts and prizes
There will be five other awards in addition to the above awards, and all contestants will receive participation
awards and consolation gifts.
The Pageant is limited to the first 20 entrants, so please get your application in as soon as possible to secure
your place.
The deadline for all applications is May 31, 2015.
We are looking forward to meeting the young person that you are entering with great anticipation. Since there
are no losers in this scholarship pageant, you can be assured that your representative will be blessed.

CRITERION FOR SPONORSHIP
In order for a youth to become an eligible entrant for the scholarship pageant the
following must apply.
1.
Each entrant must be sponsored by a Greater Charleston area church,
ministry or organization proclaiming the Christian faith regardless of
denomination. "For Christ is the Head of the Church".
2.
The entrant must share an association or affiliation with the sponsoring
church/ministry.
3.
The entrant must have the permission of their sponsor to use its name as a
representing body for the contestant, secured by the signature of a
representing officer on an entrant application.
4.
The church/ministry/organization may sponsor any number of entrants per
year.
5.
The entrant must be a High School Junior (Rising Senior), 16-18 years of age
expecting to graduate in the year 2016.
6.
The church/ministry must submit a completed contestant application form
along with a $50.00 sponsorship fee to the pageant committee no later than
May 31, 2015
Due to time constraints of the actual event, the number of contestants will be
limited to only the first 20 entries.
All other sponsorship fees will be promptly returned along with one
complimentary ticket to this year’s pageant at no charge.

CONTESTANT RULES AND REGULATIONS
These are the guidelines for each contestant along with a special section to
parents or guardians of each contestant.
Please adhere to these guidelines as well as our suggestions to ensure that
each contestant will experience the greatest fulfillment that this special event has to
offer.
1.
All contestants must be 16 to 18 years of age.
2.
Each contestant must meet all the requirements listed in criterion for
sponsorship.
3.
Each contestant must show a sense of maturity manifested in Good Behavior
and Respect for the pageant trainers and coordinators
4.
Disorderly conduct will not be tolerated, but will result in immediate expulsion
from the pageant
5.
It is vital that each contestant attend the orientation and all scheduled
rehearsals. If a contestant cannot legitimately attend a rehearsal, a pageant
coordinator must be notified in advance. Repeated failure to give advance
notice may result in the contestant being expelled from continued participation.

ALL CONTESTANTS
The contestant will be judged in the following categories.
TALENT COMPETITION
Each contestant will individually display their choice of talent e.g. singing,
dancing, drama, etc. Each contestant must provide their own choice of music or
sound effects if applicable on any of the following, audio cassette.CD or flash
drive plus any additional, costumes and props.
Time allowed 1-3 minutes per contestant.
DRESS AND POISE COMPETITION
Each contestant will display poise and a well groomed appearance in this
category one outfit supplied by contestant is required.
Contestant will individually walk up and down stage or runway in front of the
judges and audience in a fashion parade manner.
Time allowed 1 minutes per contestant.

SEMI-FINALISTS
Each semi-finalist will read or quote one of the selected scriptures and then
give the following information.

CAREER GOALS
Each contestant will be asked what career they would like to pursue and why that
particular career.
When answering contestants may also give any details of activities they are
currently involved in that may be relative to their career goals.
Time allowed, 2 minutes per contestant.
FINALISTS
Questions and answers on Christian Principles
Each finalist will be presented with a fictional scenario in which they must answer
as to how they would resolve the particular problems, which the scenario presents, in a
Christian manner.
Time allowed, 2 minutes per contestant.

SUGGESTIONS TO PARENTS/GAURDIANS
In order to make this special event most memorable to your child we have
compiled just a few suggestions which we hope that you will find appropriate.
These are by no means etched in stone, however, in the best interest of both you
and your child we sincerely hope that you will deem them useful.
1.
Please attend the orientation and as many rehearsals as possible with your child,
2.
Please call a staff member or coordinator if you have any questions.
3.
Please practice the various areas of competition with your child at home on a
consistent basis.
(This will greatly build your child1s confidence, self-esteem and ensure that your
child will give their best).
4.
Please give positive encouragement to your child versus negative criticism.
5.
In order to keep the pageant running smoothly no parent/guardian will be
permitted in the dressing areas at any time. At no time will any unauthorized
person/persons be permitted in the stage area or backstage during the pageant
in order to accommodate the safety of all participants.

WARDROBES
Parents please provide the following.
OPENING SELECTIONS:
Tee shirts will be provided by pageant committee.
Please provide one pair of black pants and shoes .
TALENT COMPETITION
Costumes to be provided by contestant.
DRESS COMPETITION
Outfits are provided by the contestant, however sponsors are also being solicited
who may provide some outfits at no cost. You will be notified as to what services
have been sponsored to you at no cost. For example, hairstyling, manicure, shoes,
suit, gown, ect…

OTHER EXPECTATIONS AND AWARDS
Each contestant will be responsible for distributing the following.
There is no cost to the contestant for these items.
The amount distributed by each contestant will add competition points to their total
score.

Booster Tickets
Each has pageant announcement and your child's picture as the contestant being
supported. Sell tickets for $5.00 each.
2.
Admission Tickets
Each will admit one person to the pageant. Sell tickets for $10.00 each.

Advertisement Page (To Be Printed in Souvenir Booklet)
Ad space can be sold in the following ways.

Because this is such a special event for your child, your friends, theirs as well as
many relatives will be more than glad to purchase Booster Tickets, Admission
Tickets, and Advertisements beyond the quantities we have listed. These
contestants will learn how to promote themselves and how to become assertive,
thus giving them a lifelong asset through this effort.

Please support your son or daughter in any way needed and you will be proud of
who they are growing up to be.
We will make additional ad space, booster tickets, and admission tickets
available at your request.

In closing we look forward to offering these scholarship awards to these worthy
children. This event is being sponsored by Faith In Action Christian Fellowship, where
we take great interest in our youth.
As a young vibrant ministry, we want all youth everywhere to know that they
can be rewarded for their Christian efforts without compromising their faith.
