TRANSPRO-BURGENER TRUCKING Job Description: Inside Sales Assistant-Estimating Department: Sales Reports To: President and General Sales Manager Company Summary: The Company is a provider of bulk material hauling services, specializing in energy, infrastructure and industrial transport throughout the Rocky Mountain region. Headquartered in Fort Collins, CO, the Company transports a diverse line of materials including cement, frac sand and other aggregate materials that support construction and infrastructure markets as well as the DJ/Niobrara, Williston and Powder River energy basins. Job Description: The primary responsibilities for this position will be to assist the President and General Sales Manager in project estimating, project tracking and bidding dry bulk commercial trucking services. The successful applicant will be working with customers in construction, raw material production, oilfield services, manufacturing, road building as well as other industries. QUALIFICATIONS The successful applicant will have excellent communication, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) experience in addition to exceptional math skills. Background in customer service and sales strongly recommended. Applicant will be able to research project publications such as Dodge, Blue Book, iSqFt, industry and other relevant websites. Familiarity with the construction industry, raw material transportation, ready mixed concrete, road building and infrastructure preferred. EXPERIENCE 1) 5+ combined years of customer service and/or sales experience. 2) Ability to calculate figures, percentages, trip times, miles, hours. 3) Must be able to read, analyze and interpret documents such as work orders, safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, general business periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations. 4) Ability to write reports, professional business correspondence using applicable software and support programs on PC. 5) Ability to effectively articulate and present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and general public. 6) Ability to apply concepts of basic distances and travel times. 7) Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 8) Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 9) Strong customer service; verbal (in person and on phone) and written. PHYSICAL DEMANDS 1) Ability to travel to see accounts in person. 2) Ability to use phones, computer, and other interactive equipment. 3) Ability to learn and work with material handling equipment. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment will be primarily office oriented. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate which includes conversation, phones, and computer use pursuant to work activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Respond to incoming calls for sales during standard business hours. Attend all scheduled sales meetings as requested by Sales Management. Use knowledge of equipment to position Carrier equipment to best advantage. Project calculations, quotes prices and credit terms and prepare sales documentation/quotes for orders. Enter sales orders into system and forward to management. Assemble drawings, maps and other materials to quote businesses as requested and required. Use available resources to meet or exceed customer expectations for pricing and delivery requests. Prepare reports of business transactions including plan and spec. jobs, negotiated or claimed jobs, and special projects. Keep updated job files on all quotes as required, both pending and in progress. Prepare monthly sales reports by category of key accounts (to 80% of volume), monitor competitor rates and provide regular quotation pricing and feedback, including documentation to management.
