Schuchts possible.
Catholic Schools Week
Thanks to all who made Catholic Schools week possible here
St. Hubert School. It was wonderful to give families and individuals tours of the school on Sunday morning. And at the time
of the writing of this article, I look forward to Catholic Jeopardy

Archdiocesan Bankruptcy FAQ
[from Archdiocesan website]
Q. Why is the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Reorganization?
A. We have realized that the way to most fairly respond to victims/survivors, given the limited resources of the archdiocese,
was to file for Reorganization under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code (Reorganization). This will allow all resources available to be distributed equitably among victims/survivors and
allow the archdiocese to continue its essential ministries. The
decision to file for Reorganization was reached after months of
prayer, careful consideration, and consultation with representative clergy and archdiocesan lay leadership groups and outside
experts, as well as input from attorneys representing victims/
survivors.
Q. Is filing for bankruptcy a way to avoid compensating
victims/survivors of clergy sexual abuse?
A. No. Reorganization is our best option to care for victims/
survivors. It is the fairest way to respond because it allows
available funds to be distributed equitably to victims/survivors.
This is a continuation of our working relationship with victims/
survivors’ counsel and not a deviation from it. By filing for Reorganization, we are not avoiding our responsibilities, but recognizing them.
Setting the record straight
In Saturday’s paper, an article headline reads, “Vatican signals
shift in posture toward divorce.” The article makes it sound as if
the Church does not let divorced people—because they are
divorced-- receive Holy Communion. This is simply false!
Only if a divorced person has civilly remarried (i.e., a marriage
that has not been witnessed by a deacon or priest or allowed by
the Bishop to be witnessed by a clergyman of another denomination) and is sexually active in that marriage—is a person
asked not to receive Holy Communion. Why is that? Because
the Church always presumes the first marriage vows to be valid
until they are shown to be otherwise by the Bishop’s Tribunal,
and then a “Declaration of Nullity”—popularly called an
“Annulment”—is granted. I have been blessed the last few
months here to work with several couples that have impressed
me with their great humility and have begun the annulment
process or convalidation process (that is, getting their marriage
“blessed” in the Church). We welcome divorced people to our
church! We have demonstrated this by hosting a series both in
the spring and the fall for people who are separated and divorced. And we also welcome divorced people who have remarried without an annulment to see Deacon Tim, Fr. Drees, or
myself to pursue an annulment.
Confirmation Retreat
Thank you to all who have worked on the Confirmation retreats
this fall and in January. The Holy Spirit is moving mightily in
this program to bring teens to a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ and closer to the Catholic Church.
Presentation of the Lord/Year of Consecrated Life
On Monday of this week, we celebrate the beautiful Feast of the
Presentation of the Lord in the Temple. Pope Francis declared
2015 to be a Year of Consecrated Life, and on Feb. 2 each year
we remember all those who have made either public or private
vows to give themselves wholly to the Lord. Please say a
prayer for or send a quick note to a nun, brother, consecrated
single person, bishop or priest that made an impact on your life.
Maybe someday we can have nuns back here at St. Hubert’s!!
Hmmm….. You and I can make it possible; if it be God’s will… Q. What does this mean for my parish or school?
A. Parishes, Catholic schools and other local Catholic entities
are separately incorporated and are not part of this filing for
Reorganization.
Q. How can I stay updated on this process as it moves forward?
A. Documents filed with the court will continue to be posted
at www.archspm.org. Information will also be included in The
Catholic Spirit.
Q. Will any of the money raised by the Catholic Services
Appeal go to the Archdiocese to settle sexual abuse
claims?
A. No. It will go to a separate corporation called the “Catholic
Services Appeal Foundation” that distributes money for innercity Catholic schools, our Archdiocesan mission in Venezuela,
our ministry to people with disabilities, seminarians, Catholic
Charities’ work with the poor, and other ministries. Visit
www.csafspnm.org for more information.
We would like to welcome all those visiting with us today. If you
are interested in becoming a member of St. Hubert Catholic
Community, please call Barb at (952) 374-5055, or meet an
Information Team Member at our new Information Desk
in the gathering space.

sexual purity issues and understanding God’s action in our
lives. If you need childcare, please contact Diane at (952) 3745049 or [email protected] by Monday, February 2.
Preventing Falls Workshop: St. Hubert is hosting a workshop
to help you maintain and improve balance and reduce your risks
in falling. Presenter is Ed Barron, LPT, Director of Therapy at
St. Gertrude’s Health and Rehabilitation Center. It will be held
on Thursday, February 5, from 8:30-9:30 AM in the north fellowship hall. All seniors and their family members are invited to

Young at Heart: The Young at Heart Senior group will be
meeting on Monday, February 16, at 8:00 AM in the north
fellowship hall. Join us for fellowship, faith and food and fun.
Hombound Communion: Do you like to share your faith? Do
you feel called to visit homebound parishioners? Homebound
visitors bring Jesus to parishioners who are sick or not able to
get to church for other reasons. Each Tuesday morning, twoperson teams visit homebound parishioners for a period of
friendship and prayer followed by the parishioner receiving our
Lord in Holy Communion. The homebound person experiences
a connection with their parish, the St. Hubert Catholic Community, which would otherwise not be possible. If you feel called to
serve as a homebound communion minister, please contact
Diane at (952) 374-5049 or [email protected] for more
information. Training is provided. A background check and
VIRTUS training are required for this ministry.

COMMUNITY
Rosary Ministry: Do you know how to make rosaries? Would
you like to learn how to make rosaries? If the answer to either
of these questions is yes, the rosary ministry needs you. We
are currently a very small group of parishioners making rosaries
for many different occasions. If you are interested in joining,
please contact Rosie Ryan at [email protected] or
(952) 974-8325.
Papal January Prayer Intentions
Prisoners: That prisoners, especially the young, may be able
to rebuild lives of dignity.
Separated Spouses: That married people who are separated
may find welcome and support in the Christian community.
A Christmas flower donation was made in the
memory of Ted Bentz.
February Ultreya
The next Ultreya will take place Sunday, February 8, at 7:00 PM
in the lower level adult meeting rooms. (Rosary will begin at
6:40 PM in the family room.) We hope you will join us!
Holy Family High School, Victoria: Holy Family open house
is on Thursday, February 12, at 6:30 PM. This open house will
give the attendees an opportunity to meet students, parents,
alumni, and teachers. Attendees may also gain information
about Holy Family’s Robotics program, Fine Arts, Athletics,
Clubs, Service Groups, and more all while learning about Holy
Family’s curriculum, opportunities, and the new Leadership
Institute.
Rosary: Did you know a group of people meet in the adoration
chapel every Tuesday night at 7:00 PM and Saturday morning
at 8:30 AM, following morning Mass, to pray all decades of the
rosary? We’d love to have you join us! No registration or
knowledge of the rosary is necessary. Just come when you
can and stay as long as you can.
Join us for Coffee & Donuts!
With your help, we can keep this tradition going here at St.
Hubert’s. Would you consider hosting coffee & donuts after
one of the morning Masses? This is great activity for
individuals, families, scouts, teams or clubs to serve the greater
St. Hubert Catholic Community. There is a sign up sheet on the
Community Life bulletin board, located in church’s north
hallway, or you can sign up on line: www.sthubert.org, click on
“Community Life” and click on “Sunday Hospitality”. Any
questions, please call Pat Dolejsi in the
parish office (952) 934-9106.

CATHOLIC SERVICES APPEAL
Dear Fr. Tollefson
THANK YOU
On behalf of the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation, I want to thank
you and your parishioners for your support of the needed work of the
Catholic Services Appeal. This year, a portion of all donations from
your parishioners are returned to your parish for Catholic formation,
educational programs or for the greatest needs facing your church.
Enclosed is a check for $43,931.57. May it help to build up the Body
of Christ in your parish community.
Gratefully,
Tim Healy, President of the Catholic Services Appeal
BE IMITATORS OF CHRIST
The 2015 Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) is underway. Many of our
parishioners have already received a mailing from the newly established Catholic Services Appeal Foundation requesting your support
of the Catholic Services Appeal. Please respond generously. The
Appeal funds services that no one parish or individual can support
alone. These services must go on despite these troubled times in our
archdiocese. It is important to know that contributions to the Catholic
Services Appeal will be used for the benefit of designated ministries of
the Appeal. Please visit the new Catholic Services Appeal Foundation website at csafspm.org for more information.
When you give to the Catholic Services Appeal you provide food and
shelter, education, spiritual support, and sacraments to individuals
who are in need, disabled, imprisoned, hospitalized, or in nursing
homes. You help give nearly 2,500 students access to a life-changing
Catholic school education their families could not otherwise afford.
You support seminarians preparing for the priesthood, make the annual Archdiocesan Youth Day happen, and help fund the evangelization and catechesis initiatives. You help our 65,000 brothers and sisters at the mission parish of Jesucristo Resucitado in Venezuela. You
help support Latino ministry for our Spanish speaking brothers and
sisters at 23 local parishes. And, when our parish reaches its goal,
25% of all funds received will be returned for use to support ministries
in our parish.
This year, the theme of the Appeal is: “Be Imitators of Christ”. Your
gift to the Catholic Services Appeal will help to share His message of
salvation not only in our parish but throughout our local Church and
beyond. Commit to helping the CSA supported ministries. Then,
please contemplate God’s gifts to you and reflect on your gratitude for
these gifts. Your financial support for the work of our parish and vital
ministries throughout this local Church is one way to express this
gratitude. Thank you.
PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
“We are called to lead our lives in imitation of the life of Christ. May
following in His path inspire each of us to help those in need by generously contributing to the Catholic Services
Appeal. We pray to the Lord.”
