President's Message:
Greetings fellow booster club members,
corporate sponsors, family & friends!
2014 has been an amazing year for the
LMHS Athletic Booster Club. As most of you
are aware the Athletic Booster Club
contracted and completed a state of the art
synthetic turf multi use field at Don T
Reynolds Stadium. The new turf field has
received outstanding reviews from our
coaches and student athletes and truly is an
accomplishment that we as community can
be very proud of. Our second large
undertaking this year includes a complete
new surface for our track, triple jump, long
jump & pole vault areas, all to be
completed by January 1st. Lake Mary High
will soon be the home to not only a
fantastic playing field but a track that is
second to none in all of Central Florida.
Every year the booster club contributes
thousands of dollars to LMHS team sports.
This year $6,800 from membership sales
went back to the teams selected at
membership sign up. An additional $6,000
was spent on FHSAA state expenses to
assist our state playoff teams. The booster
club also sponsored several team Senior
Nights. Lake Mary athletes continue to be
some of the best in the state and represent
our school and community with pride and
outstanding achievement.
Our generous members, corporate sponsors
and the many others that donated their
time and money have made this all
possible. On behalf of the entire booster
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Seminole (twice) and Spruce Creek and
currently sit in first place in the district and

Rams boys soccer is 9-2-1 and tied for
second in the District seeding. When we
return from holiday break we have key
match ups with Brantley and Lyman. The
Rams will be hosting the District
Tournament January 18-23.
First year Head Coach Eric Sellick said this
about the boys, " Our players have bought
into our system of play and our expectation
of them on the field which enables our fans
to see the talent that we have on the Rams
this season."
The team is led on the court by Seniors
Morgan Ackermann and Vernisha Andrews.

Swimming
Both Girls and Boys had successful
campaigns in the 2014 swim season. The
Girls team finished with a 7-4 record and a
5th place conference and District Finish. The
Boys team Finished with a 9-1 record and
3rd Place conference and District finish its
highest in the past 8 years. Also this year our
team reached a total of 54 swimmers setting
a high mark for Lake Mary High School.
Another amazing season is in the books for
the Lake Mary Rams Boys Golf Team. This
year’s team was led by Head Coach, Lou
Suarez and Assistant Coach, Mike Coyle. It
was truly the season of champions as the
Rams won the Seminole Athletic
Conference Championship by more than 30
strokes. The boys continued to dominate in
the District 5 Championship which turned
into a two day tournament due to
inclement weather. Then the boys went on
to win the Region 2 Championship with a
score of 293, and capped off the historic
season at the Class 3A State Championship
with a score of 589. It would be hard to ask
for a better sendoff for the team’s sole
senior Gabriel Lench. Meanwhile it is just
the beginning for rising stars, co-captains
Austin Hitt and Kyle Flexenhar, Linus
Samuelsson, Michael Dolin, and Cameron
Koohyar all returning to the team next year.
Caroline Oster for the girls completed her
Senior year with a 9th place finish at the
State Meet in the Girls 100 yard freestyle
with a time of 54.09, which is the Lake
Mary High School record. Carol was a 4
year state qualifier, team Captain, and owns
multiple class records in the 200, 100, and
50 Free events. Carol is currently undecided
as to which college she will attend in the
Fall of 2015.
Ben Whitty a Junior finished 7th in the 200
IM and 5th in the 100 Breaststroke at the
state meet in November. Setting the School
Record in the 100 Breast beating his own
mark he previously set 3 weeks prior. Ben
was named to the 2014 ALL- Central
Florida team and we look forward to a
strong 2015 season out of Ben next Year.

The 2014 Lady Rams Golf Team had another
Outstanding season. A strong group of
returning golfers were joined by 4
tremendous newcomers to once again have
the team contending for a State Title. After
struggling a bit on day one of the State
Finals, the Rams put together the lowest
round of any team on day two but fell just 5
shots short of bringing home the State
Championship and had to settle for 2nd
place. The Rams were led by Junior, Selin
Timur who also finished 2nd in the
Individual Championship with a two day
total of 144. For that performance, Selin
earned 1ST Team All- State Honors. Junior,
Sydney Merchant tied for 18th and shot 75
on day two. Freshman, Macy Somoskey tied
for 28th and also shot 75 on day two.
Junior, Bianca Cruz shot 82 on day two and
Junior Colomba Martinez, shot 85 as the
Rams made a great run at the lead. The
team ended the season as the Team
Champions of the Seminole Athletic
Conference, Team Champions of the FHSAA
3A District 5, the Team Champions of the
FHSAA 3A Region 2 and the FHSAA 3A State
Finals Runner-up. Individually, Junior,
Bianca Cruz was the Seminole Athletic
Conference Champion and Junior, Selin
Timur was the FHSAA District 5
Champion. It was another Outstanding
Season of Golf for the Lady Rams. With only
one senior on this years team, the future
looks bright for the Lady Rams in 2015.
Congratulations to team members,
Freshman, Jenny Kim, Freshman, Macy
Somoskey ,Sophomore, Taylor
Fisk, Sophomore, Haley Danford, Junior,
Colomba Martinez, Junior, Bianca Cruz,
Junior, Sydney Merchant, Junior, Selin
Timur, and Senior Captain, Ashlyn Hendrix.
Bowling
The boys bowling team finished second at
the district tournament and earned their
second straight trip to the bowling state
tournament held in Orlando. At the state
tournament the boys team once again
made it through the first round of
competition and into the Sweet 16 in the
state. The boys finished the tournament in
13th place officially. The boys team was led
by some super seniors in Randy Rosenblum,
Jamie Pye, and Ryan Lai. In addition to the
seniors, Sophomore Robert Poole was a
team leader who finished the district
tournament with the number one overall
total in pins.
The girls bowling team finished the district
tournament in 7th place. The girls season
overall record was 5-11. The team was led
by first year bowler Senior Ally Bahng.
Girls Cross Country
The Lake Mary Rams Girls Cross Country
capped off this year's season with the
highest team placement for the Lady Rams
in over a decade at the State Championships
in Tallahassee. After graduating four out of
seven varsity members, it seemed the Rams
would have had a rebuilding year. However,
this was not the case. With freshmen
Cheyenne St. Lewis, Maggie Lyons, Angela
Jordan, and Brianna Simcox, the Running
Rams had their best season in a decade.
Some team highlights this year: 1st place
overall finish at Seminole Invitational at the
National Training Center in Clermont, 2nd
place finish in the prestigious Invite Only
Flrunners Race of Champions, Seminole
Athletic Conference and District RunnerUp, 4th place finish in the "Region of
Death," and a 7th place finish in the 4A
State Meet.
Perhaps the most impressive performances
for the Rams was on an individual level.
Senior Niki Demeter ended her four career
with a 2nd Team All Conference finish.
Freshmen Cheyenne St. Lewis 6th place
overall finish in the SAC meet earned her
1st Team All Conference Honors, and her
5th place overall finish at the District
Championship earned her All District
Honors and qualified her individually for
Regions. Sophomore standout Daniela
Urzua's 3rd place overall finishes at
Conference and Districts earned her 1st
Team All Conference and District Honors.
Even more impressive was her 5th place
podium finish in the Region of Death,
qualifying her individually for the State
Championships. At the State Meet, Daniela
once again proved her dominance with an
8th place overall podium finish. Daniela's
incredible best 5k time of 18:33 makes her
the 2nd fastest female cross country runner
in the history of Lake Mary High School.
Daniela is second only to teammate and
current school record holder, Senior Fatema
Jaffer. A recent FSU signee, Fatema ends
her four year career as a Running Ram as
the fastest female cross country runner Lake
Mary has ever had. As an individual Fatema
never finished lower than 3rd place overall
in any regular season competition. In the
State Series, Fatema's 2nd place overall
finish at Conference and Districts earned her
1st Team All Conference and District
Honors. Her 4th place podium finish in the
Region of Death qualified her individually
to the State Championships, where she didn't
disappoint finishing 6th place overall. She
continued her dominance in the post season
with a 1st place overall finish in the Invite
Only FACA All Star Senior meet, proving
she is the fastest senior across all
classifications in the state of Florida. Fatema
capped off her incredible season with a
personal best 5k time of 18:00 and was the
top female finisher for the state of Florida at
the Footlocker Southeast Regional
Championships in North Carolina. The
Running Rams are looking forward to
continuing their dominance in the upcoming
track season. Go Rams!

FHSAA SWEET 16 FINALISTS (Back to Back)
This year will go down in history as one of the best
Lake Mary Football teams in our 33 years. Our
Rams again achieved a perfect regular season (100) and an 11-1 overall record. Among the wins
were rival games where the Rams traveled to and
defeated Lyman (48-13), Seminole (28-21), and
won the Mayor's Cup by defeating Lake Brantley
(45-41). In this thrilling finish on live Brighthouse
Television, our Rams fought back from a 17 point
deficit with only 10 minutes left in the game! The
Rams made Halloween and homecoming a night to
remember by defeating a good 8-1 University
squad, clinching our second consecutive District
Championship and invitation to the FHSAA playoffs.
The win over 8A-3 Champion Oviedo(30-20) on
Senior night earned our second consecutive SAC
title. The home playoff win over Flagler Palm Coast
(43-30) was only the third in school history and
allowed us to advance to the Regional semi-final
game. 22 Seniors will graduate and several hope to
play college football.

Boys Cross Country
The 2014 Lake Mary Men's Cross Country
progam once again made school history.
The rams qualified for the state finals for
the second consecutive year. In addition,
the team placed 5th, which is the highest
finish in school history.
The Rams started off with a win at the
annual Mike Gibson Summertime Run,
hosted by Lake Mary High School. From
there the Rams once again made
appearance in the top seeded race at both
the Flrunners Invite, and Prestate
Tallahassee. Both races included more that
200 teams.
In addition, to the 5th place finish, the Rams
also finished 2nd at conference, district, and
regional to Lyman, the 4A state title winner.
This helped solidify the Rams as one of the
best teams in the state for a second
consecutive year.
From that success the Rams had two
seniors qualify for the F.A.C.A. meet. Ryan
DeGale placed 5th alongside teammate
Christian Aman's 22nd spot to help the
EAST boys win the meet. From there John
Lyons joined the trio and headed up to
North Carolina to run at the Footlocker
Cross Country Regional Championship.
Many records fell this season. Devin Boyle
set a new freshman record with a time of
16:54.27 at Regions. Christian Aman was
the 2nd Ram in over a decade to break the
16 minute barrier with a time of 15:55.00 at
Footlocker South. Ryan DeGale broke the
school record several times this season. He
finished with a season P.R. of 15:41.63. His
leadership this season, and performances
help solidify a full scholarship to run At Troy
University next fall.
Next season, the Running Rams will bring
back five of their seven, John Lyons, Devin
Boyle, Billy Field, and Sean Griffin. Add
to this some incoming freshman and the
continued development
of standout J.V. runners Ethan
Goldsmith, and Justin Souders, and
the Rams once again have a powerhouse
team.
