Juliana & Jan Hester Scholarship- Waycross Bank and Trust
will award one $500 scholarship to a graduating senior. If
selected, you will also be eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship
awarded by Community Bankers Association. See a counselor for
an application. The deadline is April 1, 2015.​
The 2015 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering
$11,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to
attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Darton State College in Albany, Georgia- Seniors interested in
attending Darton State College should apply for the Dean’s
Scholar Award. The scholarship is worth the total cost of in-state
tuition and mandatory fees for the Fall & Spring semesters. See a
counselor for eligibility criteria and application forms. The deadline
for the award is March 15, 2015.
The Community Bankers Association of Georgia (CBA) is
sponsoring a $500.00 scholarship to a high school senior from
their branch location and then be entered to win the $1,000.00
CBA scholarship. See a counselor for an application. Deadline is
April 3, 2015.
SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Buick Achievers Scholarship Program up to $100,000
Seniors who plan to enroll full time at a four-year college or
university, and plan to major in a field of study that focuses on
engineering, technology, design or business, with an interest in
the automotive industry should apply

27, 2015.
The Senator David Shafer Scholarship Essay Contest will
award up to $1500. See a counselor for essay topic and deadline
is February 27th.
2014-2015 Coca-Cola Scholarship Program
Description of Scholarships
The Coca-Cola Bottling Company will provide scholarship funding and award a total of
five (5) scholarships in the amount of $200 to Ware County High School graduates of
2015 who meet the eligibility and criteria guidelines below.
*Scholarship Eligibility and Criteria Guidelines
The scholarships are merit-based and awarded to the top honor graduates **who are
attending a postsecondary institute in the fall of 2015.
**What if the honor student is not going to college in the fall of 2015?
If a student who ranks among the top 10 honor graduates does not plan to further his/her education or is going to
delay going to college later than the fall of 2015, the scholarship must be declined and awarded to the next
highest ranked honor graduate.
What documentation is needed to issue the scholarship?
The scholarship recipient must furnish a copy of the acceptance letter issued on letterhead
from the postsecondary school that they will be attending in the fall of 2015 to their high
school counselor. The counselor will then submit the attached Recipient Information form
and a copy of the acceptance letter for each recipient to Crystal Bussey at the Ware County
Schools’ Board office for processing of the scholarship checks. The deadline for submission of
this information is Friday, May 22, 2015.

The Ware County Farm Bureau would like to host an art contest for
high school students sponsored yearly by Georgia Farm Bureau!
Deadline for submitting artwork is:
•Friday February 20th - All entries will be collected by Ms. Aldridge and taken to the WC Farm Bureau
office for judging. Artwork will be displayed at the office for members to view and for Waycross Journal
Herald to inventory for newspaper article.
Ware County Farm Bureau judges will award:
1. First Place: $50
2. Second Place: $10 Zaxby's gift card
3. Third Place: $10 Zaxby's gift card
Drawings will be judged on:
• How well the artwork represents modern agriculture found in Ware
County or Georgia's Agriculture industry and
•Artistic Merit
Students completing artwork for the contest may stop by room 1208 to submit entries before or after school OR during
lunches as there is an entry form to complete for the artwork. The artwork must be on 8 1/2 X 11 inch white paper. It
should be either in black ink or dark pencil (soft lead) and should be camera ready.
Megan Carter signed with Boston University in Boston,
Massachusetts to play Golf. Megan is the daughter of Ray
and Paige Carter. She has been a member of the Ware
County Lady Golf team for four years and hopes to help her
team with the GHSA State Championship this season.
Bailey Buie signed with Armstrong State University in
Savannah, Georgia, to play Golf. Bailey is the daughter of
Bobby and Kay Buie. She has also been a member of the
Lady Gator Golf team for four years and will join Megan on
the links this spring in pursuit of a State Championship.
Abby Todd signed with South Georgia State
University in Douglas, Georgia, to play Softball. Abby
has led the Lady Gator Softball team on the pitching
mound for four years. She is the daughter of Michael
and Holly Todd.
Steven Wright signed the Univeristy of Virginia in
Charlottesville, Virginia, to play Football. Steven is the
son of Wilett Perez-Ortiz. Steven has been a member of
the Ware County Football Team for four years.
Raekwon Chatman signed with Kennesaw State
University in Kennesaw, Georgia, to play Football.
Raekwon is the son of Joyce Tobler. Raekwon has been
a member of the Ware County Football Team for four
years.
Ro Sheem Collins signed with East Central (MS)
Community College in Decatur, Mississippi, to play
football. Ro Sheem is the grandson of Charlie and
Clarissa Carter. Ro Sheem has been a member of the
Ware County Football Team for four years
Jarvis Belcher signed with Monroe (NY) Community
College in Rochester, New York, to play Football. Jarvis
is the son of Felices and Fred King. Jarvis has been a
member of the Ware County Football Team for four
years.
Samuel Baptiste Alabama State University in Montgomery,
Alabama, to play football. Sam graduated from Ware County
two years ago and signed with GMC. He graduated this fall
with a Associate Degree and will now move on to Alabama
State. Sam was a member of the Ware County Football team
for four years.
Sammy Burley signed with Hutchinson (KS) Community
College in Hutchinson, Kansas, to play Football. Sammy
is the son of Bertha Jackson. Sammy has been a
member of the Ware County Football Team for four
years.
