8th National Level Science Symposium: Science and
Christ College epitomises the quest for excellence in higher
education. Established in 1998 and inaugurated by Dr APJ Abdul
Kalam in 2001, the College has served as a temple of learning for
the all-round development of students. Offering a wide variety of
courses with English as the medium of instruction, Christ College
has rendered remarkable service and set increasingly higher
academic benchmarks. It is characterised by an enduring legacy
of holistic education and infinite opportunities for the integral
development of the students.
Christ College derives its distinct character from the state-ofthe-art infrastructure, technology-aided teaching-learning
process and countless student development programmes. Wellqualified and experienced faculty members work towards the
multi-dimensional advancement of the students, whereas the
Clubs and Associations of the College facilitate a host of creative
co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Organized in a
sustained manner, seminars, workshops and symposia expose
the students to the latest global developments in salient
academic arenas. The Wi-Fi facility on campus provides access
to the emerging trends in various domains of knowledge.
Challenging the time successfully, Christ College, Rajkot,
completed the re-accreditation process in January 2010 and
was awarded "B" grade with the CGPA 2.89 by the NAAC. It is
the youngest college to go for re-accreditation in the short span
of its run at state as well as national level and to come out with
flying colours.
Christ College, for over a decade of service to the students of
Saurashtra and Kutch region, has transformed the academic
experience of higher education. The College makes ceaseless
endeavours to push the envelope with the introduction of
certificate courses, novel teaching methodologies and newer
technologies, pursuing the hallowed ideal of empowering the
young generation. Education at Christ College is a defining
experience.

Technology are fast developing and growing to gain more mileage
in a multidisciplinary way. The importance of inter-disciplinary
research is increasing exponentially. The juncture of biology,
chemistry, physics, mathematics, and the social and behavioral
sciences is where the excitement is more intense. The classroom
teaching is inadequate to meet the demands of the time. The
young generation needs to be well equipped to face the challenges
of the morrow. They require a platform to come up to the level
where they can be well prepared to stand in this competitive world.
In compliance with these objectives, Christ College, Rajkot, is
organizing the 8th National Level Science Symposium aiming at:

Science and Technology
§ A platform to interact with eminent scientists and subject
experts
§ Knowledge enhancement particularly in areas of interest
§ Career guidance for selecting a subject for higher studies
§ An opportunity to strengthen inter-institute collaboration and
institute-industry networking.
