Personal training with any of our highly qualified trainers costs less when you are a member. You also get a free fitness assessment with one of our certified trainers as part of joining. Cell phones may only be used in the lobby and the cafe areas of the facility. For the protection of our members’ privacy and safety, use of cell phones in any other areas of the Buffalo Grove Fitness Center is strictly prohibited. TRX® Suspension training, Warm Water Arthritis, Pilates Reformer and Taekwondo are just a few of our specialty programs offered as a way to introduce new and exciting forms of fitness to your exercise routine. Get started this season! Registration opens November 4. Once per calendar year, you have the opportunity to suspend (“freeze”) your membership for any non-medical related reason, (“non-medical freeze”). Non-medical freezes may not exceed 4 months and must be taken consecutively. A $10 fee will be charged upfront for each month of your non-medical freeze. New members must remain active for the first 3 months of membership before qualifying for a nonmedical freeze. Alternatively, you may freeze for unlimited months at no charge with a medical freeze. Medical freezes must be accompanied by a physicians note at the time of the freeze request. Your safe and healthy return is important to us; therefore, reactivating your account after a medical freeze will also require a physician’s note. All freezes must be taken in monthly increments, but can start any day of the month. Freeze requests must be submitted in person at our Guest Services desk. Kids Club offers child care services for ages 3 months through 12 years in a fun and secure environment. Tutoring services are also available for school age children. As a member you can pay per visit or purchase a monthly unlimited pass. Visits are limited to 2 hours. We just ask that you make a reservation 24 hours in advance. Unlimited facility usage is only allowed for members ages 16 or older. Exceptions include members ages 13 - 15 that have completed our junior weight training tutorial and the consenting parent or legal guardian is a member of the Buffalo Grove Fitness Center. Nonmembers and guests below the age of 16 may only use the facility during family hours and must be accompanied by an adult member at all times (see family hours rules and regulations for more details). Online registration is available for all classes that have a registration code. The Buffalo Grove Park District registration system requires you to first set up your online registration account. You can begin the process to setting up your online registration account by going to the registration page at bgparks.org. Once you receive your account code information, you can register online. The primary member on your account receives 3 complimentary guest passes per year to use for guests ages 16 or older. An entry fee of $15 will be charged to all guests not using one of the 3 complimentary passes. The third Friday of every month is free guest day; and, you will not be charged one of your 3 complimentary passes or $15 on those days. Only one guest per active present member. There is no fee to cancel; however, in order to cancel your membership without incurring further charges we require all cancellation requests to be submitted in person at our Guest Services desk no later than the 25th of the month prior to the cancellation occurring. Cancellation requests submitted after the 25th of the month will not be processed until the following month. Charges incurred due to improper or late cancellation requests will not be refunded. A $100 fee will be charged to anyone who wishes to rejoin within 12 months of cancelling their membership. This is not an enrollment fee or a cancellation fee. This is simply a charge to cover the administrative costs of re-instatement. Members, guests and participants of programs at the Buffalo Grove Fitness Center permit the Park District to take photos and videos of themselves and their children for publication in the program brochure, website and additional uses as the Buffalo Grove Fitness Center and Park District deem necessary unless the member, guest and participant expressively file with the Park District a written objection as to photos or videos of themselves and/or their children. If you lose your membership card there is a $5 replacement fee to issue you a new one. 3 WINTER15 Membership Options For Students Student Pass Rates We’re making it easier for students with our 10, 30, and 100 - day student 10 Days 30 Days 100 Days passes. You must be 13 - 24 years old to qualify, or have proof of full-time student status. By paying the upfront rate, you can pre-purchase a membership for as $29 $59 $129 Resident much time as needed. Students do not incur the reactivation fee when purchasing any of these 3 passes. Student passes automatically expire when the applicable number of days has passed. Unused days cannot be carried over to the next pass. SPECIALTY PROGRAMS Warm Water Arthritis Heart Strong Level 1 Taking place in our warm water therapy pool, Arthritis Foundation certified trainers will lead you through a series of exercises that can help relieve pain and stiffness caused by arthritis. These classes are also great for Fibromyalgia and pain management. Heart Strong classes are designed for individuals with limitations and concerns regarding their cardiac health. Participants will be taken through exercises focused on helping cardiac rehab patients, and those living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Additionally, these classes will meet the needs of anyone with balance and stability concerns, blood pressure issues, or those who would prefer to be monitored during exercise. $18 per month for Members, $69 per month for Nonmembers.
