This session gives an overview of sleep, including practical techniques and complementary services that may be of benefit.

Carer Reflexology Workshop
Reflexology workshop for carers, partners and patients. Safe seated hand and feet techniques will be demonstrated and practiced
to provide confidence in therapeutic touch for a loved one.

Arterie Open Studio
Arterie invites Cancer patients and carers to attend a Wednesday open studio. Please bring your own art and craft projects to
work on in an informal and supported arts studio. The Studio, LG Floor, Lifehouse
Exercise: Moving through and after treatment
Research has shown that exercise can improve many treatment related side effects and may even have an effect on recurrence
and survival. It is therefore important that you stay as active as possible during and after your treatment. This talk will discuss how
to integrate exercise during and after intensive cancer treatment.

Nutrition/Diet and Cancer
Many people who face a cancer diagnosis may be unsure of what they should or should not be eating. This talk will focus on a
cancer protective diet. Which foods are healthy to eat and what you can do to reduce your risk of cancer or recurrence from
cancer.

Qi Gong is an integral part of Chinese medical health systems. Qi Gong consists primarily of meditation, relaxation, physical
movement, mind body integration and breathing exercises

Look Good Feel Better
Look Good…Feel Better’s mission is to help improve the wellbeing and confidence of people undergoing treatment for cancer.
It is a free community service program that provides useful information and tips specifically tailored to help people deal with
the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. Please see the front desk to reserve your place, these sessions are very
popular
Chemotherapy and You
This program is for patients who are about to start chemotherapy. It will provide an overview of chemotherapy, including
what to expect and how to prepare. It will discuss your chemotherapy regime and address side effects. Sessions run weekly on
Wednesday mornings in the LivingRoom.

Mindfulness Meditation
Meditation is an ancient practices that uses breathing techniques and mental focus to slow, steady and quieten the mind.
Research indicates that the regular practice of mindfulness can reduce feelings of stress, anxiety and depression, improve
resilience and alleviate pain. This group will run in a four week cycle.

Gentle Movement and Restorative Yoga
Yoga is not only physical exercise: it is a practice that integrates body, mind and spirit. Yoga has origins in ancient Indian
philosophy and typically combines physical postures, breathing techniques and meditation or relaxation. For some people the
practice of yoga helps to release stress and tension, increase energy and wellbeing.
