NEW THIS MONTH:

GREENVILLE TECH BUSINESS EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP---$1,500. CRITERIA: One graduating
student from each high school in Greenville County enrolling in a Business Division Program at
Greenville Technical College will be selected if eligibility criteria and application deadlines are
met. ALL INFORMATION is on application available in scholarship drawer. DEADLINE: March 27,
2015.

GREENVILLE TECH LILLIAN SIMPSON SCHOLARSHIP----$1,500. CRITERIA: Cannot get both Lillian
Simpson AND Business scholarship above----again, one graduating senior from each high school
can win this scholarship. ALL INFORMATION is on application available in scholarship drawer.
DEADLINE: March 27, 2015.

BMW SCHOLARS PROGRAM---Tuition Assistance. CRITERIA: students work part time at BMW
Manufacturing Co., LLC…while attending full time two-year community college. Greenville Tech
and Tri County are 2 participating community colleges in our area. This allows students to gain

SOUTH CAROLINA LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER’S FOUNDATION----Four $9,000 awards
available----one $3,000 award----and two $2,000 awards. CRITERIA: graduating senior, in state
resident status, recommendation from principal or counselor, ESSAY, application,
transcript….DETAILED INFORMATION and applications available in scholarship drawer!
DEADLINE: March 2, 2015.

UPSTATE CAROLINA SCHOLARSHIP FOR EXCELLENCE IN SCIENCE---$2,000---The intention of this
unrestricted scholarship is to provide financial assistance to high school seniors looking to
attend post-high school education and pursue a field in science. The scholarship will be paid
directly to the student. Evaluation of applications and essays will be conducted by an outside
review panel. Forms and essay questions available in scholarship drawer. DEADLINE: March 27,
2015.

STATE FAIR SCHOLARSHIPS---$1,500---renewable---“Ride of your life” scholarship will award 50
students $1,500. Scholarship good towards 4 year colleges and 2 year colleges. CRITERIA:
ESSAY, transcript, application. Apply online at www.scstatefair.org DEADLINE: March 13, 2015.

100 BLACK MEN OF AMERICA, INC.---RANGE FROM $1,000 TO $3,000. ALL applications must be
submitted via PDF. Packets and instructions available in scholarship drawer. Eligibility: high
seniors transitioning to college, minimum GPA 2.5, enrolling in post-secondary institution Fall
2015. DEADLINE: February 28, 2015.

EAST TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY----various scholarships to assist out of state students with
tuition and fees. Flyer available in scholarship drawer if you are interested in attending East
Tennessee State University. DEADLINES: vary.

GREENVILLE TECH SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION---$$ Varies---A new system is coming March 1,
2015----It will have user-friendly features and automatically match applicants to possible
scholarships. Go to Greenville Tech’s website and look for “Foundation scholarships”.
Applications will be available beginning March 1, 2015.
BELOW STILL ACTIVE:

THE SOUTH CAROLINA EDUCATION ASSOCIATION-RETIRED SCHOLARSHIP----$1,000 ($500 per
semester—renewable). CRITERIA: Senior graduating 2015, planning to attend 4 year college
directly from high school, plan to pursue a career in education, must maintain 3.0 or higher once
in college, must demonstrate leadership abilities, and must need financial assistance!
Applications available in scholarship drawer. DEADLINE: March 16, 2015.

GREEK HERITAGE SCHOLARSHIP---$1,000 Renewable. The applicant should demonstrate
financial need and have a 3.5 GPA or better. Preference will be given to students of Greek


EPSILON TAU OMEGA CHAPTER OF ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY---SCHOLARSHIPS AND BOOK
AWARDS---$1,500 Scholarships (renewable) and $600 book awards. CRITERIA: Financial need, C
average grades, and accepted to a 4 year college OR two year community college OR
technical/vocational school. Applications available in scholarship drawer. DEADLINE: March 2,
2015.

HISTORICALLY BLACK COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES--- HBCU
CONNECT Minority Scholarship Program for HBCU students. The scholarship program makes
available several $1,000 scholarships for minority applicants who attend or plan to attend a

THE J.E. SIRRINE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM---$200-$2,000 depending on financial need.
Renewable. CRITERIA: financial need and academic ability. Recommended that students apply
online at https://sirrine.greenville.k12.sc.us . However, applications are available in the
scholarship drawer. DEADLINE: April 15, 2015.

LIGHT UP A LIFE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: CRITERIA: Child of current employee of GHS, OR be
the child or grandchild of an active GHS volunteer (at least 100 hours of volunteer work ),
minimum 3.0 in science and math, planning to pursue and Associate or 4 year degree in a
healthcare profession, and demonstrate financial need, high personal character and leadership.

BUICK ACHIEVERS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM----50 Scholarships each up to $25,000 a year. “We
want to help those who put forth the effort and find success both in and out of the classroom,
yet are unable to attend college without financial assistance.” CRITERIA: financial need, plan to
enroll full time at a four-year college/university, plans to major in a field of study that focuses on
engineering, technology, design or business, with an interest in the automotive industry. For

DELTA SIGMA THETA SORORITY, INC---NEED BASED---CRITERIA: African American , GPA 2.5 or
higher, Financial Need, and acceptance and attendance at an accredited institution of higher

PAUL MITCHELL the SCHOOL GREENVILLE---$2000. Cosmetology school CRITERIA: Must be
accepted at Paul Mitchell. Must be U.S. Citizen and graduate June 2015. Requires essay and

WACE NATIONAL CO-OP---$6000 (renewable). CRITERIA: GPA 3.5 or higher on 4.0 (unweighted
scale). Apply and be accepted at one of the 11 participating colleges (listed on application).

DENNY’S (URBAN LEAGUE)---$1,000. Criteria: Essay required. Apply at
www.dennyshungryforeducation.com select appropriate link to the category that applies to you
(high school). Information in scholarship drawer. DEADLINE: February 27.

NORTH GREENVILLE UNIVERSITY---(Hendricks Scholarship)---$ VARIES---renewable. Specifically
for Woodmont and Hillcrest students. FAFSA needs to be completed by June 1. Committee
Selection at University level. Applications in scholarship drawer. DEADLINE: March 30.

SPRING SING SCHOLARSHIP---Sponsored by Rotary Club of Pleasantburg---$1,000
(nonrenewable). CRITERIA: Senior who is involved in music AND participated in Spring Sing while
in Elementary or middles school. Submit the following to Mrs. Owens: one page typed essay on
why music is important to you including how being in Spring Sing as a younger student made a
difference in your interest and involvement in music. Please include a phone number and email
address at the top of the essay; two letters of recommendation—one of which is from a current

February 13.

ATHNET SPORTS RECRUITING SCHOLARSHIP---$1,000 Athnet helps athletes find opportunities to
play college sports and get an athletic scholarship. CRITERIA: Write a 400-500 word essay
describing how the lessons you have learned through playing sports have positively impacted
you as you pursue your college education. Check out their website @
