Invitation and Call for participation
The environment is considered the surroundings in which an organism operates,
including air, water, land, natural resources, flora, fauna, human and their interrelation. It is
this environment which is both so valuable on on hand and so endangered on other hand. It is
the man who by and large running the environment on both for himself and for all other
organism. Increasing population growth, rapid industrialization and urbanization with passing
time have augmented the rate of deterioration of the environment, which is having a clear
negative impact on human and ecological health. Although considerable research is being
undertaken in critical areas such as global change, environmental quality, and ecological
protection, more collaborative, inter-disciplinary research is needed in order to ensure longterm environmental sustainability. A thorough understanding of the environment is needed
to develop a comprehensive and holistic model for the protection of the environment to
ensure long-term sustainability on a global scale. During this seminar discussions will be made
on current trends in environmental research and many potential future directions of research
in this area.
About the Seminar Venue
Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner was established in 2003 as an important
milestone in the development of higher education in the Thar desert of Rajasthan. The

five university teaching departments in the subjects of Environmental Science, Microbiology,
Computer Science English and History. The University is all set to strive through teaching,
research and extension, to achieve a better understanding of the problems of the region in
which it is located, which is vastly different from all other regions in India and abroad.
