I would like to thank all volunteer judges who participated in the Future City Competition meeting at Thurgood Marshall Fundamental Middle School in St. Petersburg on January 24, 2015. On January 27, 2015, we had our Legislative Forum at Feather Sound Country Club. Mr. Allen Douglas, FES Executive Director, Senator Jack Latvala; Representatives Larry Ahern, Darryl Rouson, and Dwight Dudley; Mayor Sandra Bradbury and City Engineer Scott Pinheiro of Pinellas Park; City of St. Petersburg Council Member Wengay Newton, and many Chapter members attended the meeting. FES MATHCOUNTS Committee has set a competition date on February 7, 2015 at St. Petersburg College Seminole Campus. Our Chapter needs volunteers with K-12 Committee and MATHCOUNTS. The 2015 State competition date is March 20th and will be held in Lake Buena Vista. It will not affect the current renewal cycle. 61G15-22.006: Demonstrating Compliance. In order to demonstrate compliance, licensees must attest to completion of the continuing education requirements upon licensure renewal. The Board will audit at random a number of licensees as is necessary to assure that the continuing education requirements are met. The licensee shall retain such receipts, vouchers, certificates, or other papers as may be necessary to document completion of the continuing education pursuant to an audit for four years from the date of completion of the continuing education activity. In addition, the Board shall use attendance information submitted by the provider to determine whether licensees can demonstrate compliance. FES will continue to process and issue certificates to our members and other customers, as well as retain these records in the individual's record. For more information on licensure renewal. Under supervision of senior staff, investigate engineering problems, coordinate civil engineering project activities, and prepare preliminary plans and documents to various roadway and highway design projects. Observing construction procedures under the guidance of a more experienced professional, convey design intent through engineering drawings and specifications, translate engineering plans and specifications into constructed engineered product, and provide civil engineering services during construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with specifications; preparing records and progress reports defining construction progress; and evaluating the results from quality control testing. Assist in researching and analyzing feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory agency specifications; perform field observations of construction as appropriate. Requirements Requires a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, with specific coursework in Traffic Engineering, Transportation Planning, and Transportation Infrastructure Management. Also requires three years of experience in applying civil engineering principles to transportation engineering projects, including roadway design, traffic operations, traffic studies, rail design, alignment plans, removal plans, cost estimates and signing and striping plans, using Bentley Microstation, Inroads, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS engineering tools. In lieu of a M.S. degree and three years of experience, employer will accept a B.S. in Civil Engineering, and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as listed above.
