The Office of Marriage and Family Life is r eintr oducing to
parishes and initiative aimed at increasing awareness of the
corrosive effects of pornography on society and offering support
and healing to families and individuals who are harmed by it.
The pervasiveness of pornography in our society is threatening
souls, wounding marriages and robbing children of their
innocence.
On the weekend of February 22nd, a video will be shown at
all Masses that addresses the scourge of pornography and offers
guidance for protecting families and finding freedom from effects of this prevalent evil. Please pray that our culture might be
healed from the damage inflicted by pornography.

Call to Share: Your pledge is appr eciated! As we
look at our lives and the many ways God has blessed
us, let us give back a proportionate gift to the Archbishop’s Call to Share. Our archdiocesan family is
truly an extension of our parish life. We are grateful
to those who take part in this effort!
As of today, 15% of our parishioners have faithfully
responded to the Archbishop’s Call to Share, our annual campaign to fund over 40 ministries in the
Church of Northeast Kansas. Please prayerfully consider what you can do to help us reach our parish target of $51,727.00. To date, we have received pledges
of $37,389.00 which is 72% of our goal. Thank you
for your generous gifts in support of the ministries of
the Church in Northeast Kansas! !
Mark your calendars for March 28 for the
Kansas City Catholic Women’s Workshop, 9 to
noon, at Our Savior Pastoral Center. For those women who are tired of just meeting and want
to do something! Enliven your women’s group and
start being active in the new evangelization now. Workshop will provide all the details needed. No lectures, just the facts needed to get going
ASAP. See details at Eventbrite.com or call/
email Susan at 913-367-2227

All the dishes from Jerry Kuckelman’s funeral
dinner will be in the cabinet in the back of St. Benedict’s Church. They are on the left side of the cabinet and you may have to pull firmly to open the door.
There are still many dishes from other dinners that
need to be picked up, so please check in case you
have a dish there. Thank you.
St. Benedict Parish will have their Spring Sale at
St. Joseph’s Church Hall the first week in April after
Easter. We’ve had several requests for this event to
happen. Volunteers are always welcome and if you
are interested in helping please call Judy Housh at
3373. More information will be coming in the upcoming bulletins.

In collaboration with Holy Family School of Faith,
the Apostles of the Interior Life Spiritual Mentorship Program is a two-year course of study combining eight distance learning courses with four oneweek intensive sessions offered in-residence at Savior
Pastoral Center in Kansas City, Kansas. The program
aims to form Spiritual Mentors to serve as guide and
companion to others on their journey to holiness. It is
designed for Catholics who have a desire to develop a
deep prayer and sacramental life, a desire to increase
their knowledge of the Catholic faith, a desire to grow
in the virtues and a desire to help others do the
same. The program begins this May. For more information,
[email protected], call
913-310-0014, or visit the School of Faith website:http://www.schooloffaith.com/curriculum/

Prayer for Vocations: Heavenly Father, with
a deep trust in the love that flows from the heart
of your Son and by the gifts of your Holy Spirit,
give to the seminarians, novices and all young
people of the Archdiocese the courage to respond
generously when you call them to the priesthood
and religious life. Give them strong examples of
holy priests and religious. Through the intercession of the saints and by our prayers, help them
pattern their lives after Mary who was not afraid
to let it be done to her according to your Word.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Living In God’s Love February 19-March 26
