Dear colleagues, dear friends and associates,
Interventional radiology has become
a profession treating a number of
pathological conditions in cooperation
with other clinical professions. It is
the cooperation between several
professions that is crucial in our
daily work and in the approach to
numerous challenges. This is why the
Section for Interventional Radiology
of the Croatian Society of Radiologists
(sIRcro) traditionally organizes
biennial international meetings.
I am very pleased to announce on
behalf of the sIRcro Board that the
X. Meeting of Interventional
Radiologists of Croatia
with international
participation – sIRcro 2015
will take place from April 16 to 19,
2015 in Trakošćan, in the picturesque
region of Hrvatsko zagorje.
I want to point out in particular that
the following members of the Initiative
Section Founding Committee will
be attending our X. Meeting, our
colleagues medical doctors K. Glavina,
A. Hebrang, J. Mašković i S. Šimunić.
The meeting will consist of a
number of international and Croatian
speakers, educational workshops
for interventional radiologists and
young professionals, thematic round
table discussions and a satellite
symposium of nurses and radiology
technologists. By the choice of topics
and organizational scheme of round
tables we would like to draw attention
to the importance of cooperation
between different clinic professions.
The purpose of such concept of the
jubilee Meeting of Interventional
Radiologists and other professions
is the affirmation of interventional
radiology in undergraduate courses as
well as in the education of radiologists
and its importance in other fields.
With this aim, beside interventional
radiologists, Trakošćan will host experts
of similar professions (cardiology,
gastroenterology, oncology, angiology,
pulmonology, gynaecology, neurology,
vascular surgery, cardiac surgery). We
also hope to host representatives of
patients’ associations, the Croatian
Health Insurance Fund, and the Ministry
of Health of the Republic of Croatia.
May the X. sIRcro 2015 be the
crown of our years-long cooperation
in creating and promoting
interventional radiology in Croatia.
