SORNA/Adam Walsh Compliance Officer
SORNA/Adam Walsh Program Compliance Officer develops, implements, and coordinates the registration and notification requirements for continued compliance with Title I of the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006, the
Sex Offender and Registration and Notification Act (“SORNA”), including manage and maintain records, files and a sex
offender website in order to insure compliance with tribal and national standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of Federal Indian Criminal Law, Tribal Law or experience working with tribal communities.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with tribal officials, employees, police department, social
services and the public.
• Knowledge of computer networks.
• Must have the desire and the ability to work closely with surrounding law enforcement agencies in order to insure
offender compliance with Tribal, State and Federal statutes.
• Some bookkeeping and personnel skills are desirable.
• Be trained in adjudication and certification in order to insure compliance with P.L.101-630, P.L.101-647 and all
provisions of the Indian Child Welfare Act.
• Knowledge of Microsoft EXCEL, Word and Power-point a plus.
• Experience in conducting background investigation including photography, obtaining legible and classifiable finger
prints for submission to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Knowledge and experience in the collection and
preservation of evidence including DNA a plus.
• AZ POST or BIA Peace Office Certification preferred.
• Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s license and be insurable with the Yavapai-Apache Nation’s insurance policy and
maintain insurability throughout employment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Handle business functions of the Adam Walsh Program for Police Department.
• Performs maintenance and updates on Sex Offender Website.
• One on one contact with sex offenders.
• Interviews and conducts follow-up investigations on sex offenders residing within the exterior boundaries of the YavapaiApache Nation. Including residential checks on offenders
• Maintains accurate records and files on sex offenders.
• Assists the criminal investigators.
• Submission of reports to be used in tracking and documenting possible violations of Tribal, State and Federal statutes
for prosecution in the appropriate court.
• Coordinates with Federal, State and Tribal agencies on Adam Walsh issues.
• Prepares and submits all required Adam Walsh and DOJ reports.
• Coordinates with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Department, Arizona Department of Public Safety, US Marshalls and
various probation department regarding sex offender issues and/ or violations.
• Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police.
Position is full-time and comes with benefits package. Non-exempt; Pay depends on qualifications and experience.

CHILDREN’S CLINICAL PROGRAM DIRECTOR: Assists in planning and managing child
and family programs and services and is responsible for clinical supervision of staff
and monitoring key performance indicators. The Children’s Clinical Supervisor is responsible for submission of required program reports and program compliance. Required: Master’s degree in a behavioral health field and licensed by the Arizona Board
of Behavioral Health Examiners or license eligible. 3 years experience working with
children in behavioral health. Preferred: In-home and community based work experience, bilingual in Spanish
DIRECT SERVICE PROVIDER (DSP): Coordinates and collaborates with primary therapists, families and other agencies to work with particular at-risk children. The DSP provides and documents Living Skills, Family Support, Case Management, and Transportation services as described on the child’s Behavioral Health Service plan.
RECOVERY SPECIALISTS: Under professional supervision, provides recovery oriented
training, outreach, and support services to individuals and groups within the adult SMI
program. Encourages clients to pursue recovery oriented activities both within the
agency and the community by modeling a positive frame of mind, hope and self-determination. Assists in advocacy of client needs and rights. Provides living skills training,
participates in client consultations. Assists in development and implementation of Behavioral Health Service Plans, coordinates these assignments with case management
activities, and maintains client progress notes for interventions assigned to them. Minimum required: High school diploma or GED. Must have completed WRAP and Peer
Employment Training or complete both when next training is provided. Be a recipient
of mental health services as defined by ADBHS.

PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER
The Public Relations Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the Public Relations Department, while
providing administrative support to the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson regarding external affairs and public
relations initiatives. This position is responsible for all public/media relations for the Yavapai-Apache Nation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate external affairs for the Office of the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson.
• Coordinate public relations initiatives for the Office of the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson.
• Assists the Office of the Chairperson in the development and implementation of goals, objectives and mission
statements.
• Acts as a liaison with external organizations, agencies, governments (Country, State, Federal, etc.) and Tribes and
the general public.
• Manages the daily operations of the Public Relations Department.
• Plans and directs all aspects of the Yavapai-Apache Nation Public Relations policies, goals, initiatives to ensure that
all external communications result in positive public relations.
• Develops communications plans and strategies for a variety of projects as directed by the Chairperson.
• Plans and coordinates special projects and events.
• Provides oversight of the Nation’s website.
• Work with a variety of media outlets to ensure strong relationships between the Nation and media.
• Manage and direct all functions of the monthly Tribal Newspaper.
• Provides oversight of external government affairs and monitors all external governmental activity (B.I.A., ITCA, AIGA,
NIGA, etc.).
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in governmental public relations, affairs and media relations.
• Previous management experience preferred.
• Ability to organize, set schedules, prioritizes tasks, and work both independently and with other members of the
department in a team setting.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Publisher, Photoshop and all associate program software.
• Ability to demonstrate the high level of professionalism and confidentiality required when interacting with employees
and the general public.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s license and be insurable with the Yavapai-Apache Nation’s insurance policy
and maintain insurability throughout employment.
• Evidence of continuing education to maintain any required and up to date knowledge and skills.
Position is full-time and comes with benefits package. Exempt; Pay depends on qualifications and experience.
