POSITION DESCRIPTION The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an individual who demonstrates strong leadership, technical and communication skills. Under the general direction of the Court Executive 1B (Assistant Family Division Manager) and other supervisory personnel, the selected candidate will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing and monitoring of all cases pertaining to child support and NJKiDS. Duties include, but are not limited to: applying statutes, court rules, case law or policies to clients and customers; interviewing clients for needed information, acting as the After-Court Team when child support is ordered; assisting staff and/or team members with work in progress; prioritizing cases; lead worker in NJKiDS; analyzing case processing from intake through disposition; providing training to co-workers; answering inquiries from the public; updating case related information; explaining judiciary policies to clients/customers; writing case notes and reviewing case status with Assistant Division Manager and Supervisor. This position also provides administrative support to the Assistant Family Division Manager and the duties include: verify requisitions/vouchers for accuracy; process work orders and purchase requisitions for division and chambers; timekeeper for division; maintain division budget and review with Manager; and other duties as assigned. *Although this position is based in the Hunterdon County Justice Center (Flemington, NJ), based on vicinage needs, it can be relocated to the Somerset County Courthouse (Somerville, NJ) or the Warren County Courthouse (Belvidere, NJ). REQUIREMENTS Open to employees in the Vicinage 13 who have an aggregate of one year of permanent service as of the announced closing date in the following career (classified) service title(s): Judiciary Clerk 4 Judiciary Clerk 3 Judiciary Account Clerk 2 EXPERIENCE: Three (3) year of experience in an office environment performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, transcribing information, reconciling balances or accounts, scheduling meetings or appointments. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADVANCEMENT: Eligibility is based upon the applicants having achieved all the competencies for advancement to Judiciary Clerk 4 as listed on the Career Progression Eligibility Form for this title. Applicants for advancement to the Judiciary Clerk 4 title are not required to take a New Jersey Civil Service Commission promotional examination. DRIVER’S LICENSE: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position. AUTHORIZATION TO WORK: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
