A GIFT FOR YOU A collection of Lenten themed reflections by Archbishop J. Peter Sartain, “An Lenten Pilgrimage: Journeying with Jesus,” is a free gift from the archbishop for all Catholics in Western Washington. The book includes columns the archbishop has written over the years for the diocesan publications of Little Rock, Arkansas; Joliet, Indiana; and Seattle. One booklet per household has been provided. Hungering for the JourneyJoin our parish community– and more than 13,000 Catholic communities across the United States– in a life changing Lenten journey with CRS Rice Bowl. Pick up your family’s rice bowl from the church on Ash Wednesday, and don’t forget to download the CRS Rice Bowl app! Rice bowls will be sent home in the school family envelopes. Remember, your Lenten sacrifices change lives. CATHOLIC HOME MISSIONS The Catholic Home Missions Appeal will take place next week. One way that this appeal works to strengthen home mission dioceses in the United States is by funding seminarian formation in poor dioceses. The blessing of seminarians places a financial burden on these dioceses, where educating each seminarian costs $35-40K per year. Your support is needed for these young men so that they might go back and serve their parishes. Please strengthen the Church at home by making a generous gift to next week’s appeal. QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH? Are you looking for a spiritual home? Are you curious about the Catholic Church? Are you returning to the Church after being away? Would you like to learn more about the Catholic faith? The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a program of inquiry and study leading to possible reception of the sacraments at the Easter Vigil. There will be no class on February 18th– Ash Wednesday. For more information please call the parish office or contact Vivian Martin at 206-2339154.
