ROCKER FUNDRAISER
Endowment Fund collections are in honor of Moosehaven the entire month of
February. We need you to help. Donate $1, $5, $10 and up. Then write your own
name or that of someone you wish to honor or memorialize on the paper rocker.
We’ll hang the rocker around the bar or SQ to recognize your donation.
If you’d rather donate on a special day, February has lots of them: Ground Hog
Day, Valentine’s Day, President's Day, and Flag Day. No matter the occasion, each
donation helps
make every
day special to
our seniors
living at
Moosehaven.
Challenge your
friends to
match your

in advance.

Governor’s Harry Heiden’s Message
Wow! What a wild start to a new year.
Everything is really humming around this
place. We even had to hire some help to
make up the difference and cover our
bases. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are
all packed and people are happy. The
cooks are doing a fantastic job and the meals are out
of sight.
A very busy and happy time thus far. The weekends
have been filled with parties, auctions, car shows,
etc. Of course it takes a lot of work. We have been
blessed with the volunteers who have shown up to
learn and to have fun while helping others. It is nice
to see the happy looks on their faces when they do
something for someone. If you can spare a few hours
a month to help us, please see Casey Vaartjes, the
Lodge Administrator.
Senior Regent Leavitt’s Message
It's that time of the Chapter Year ending.
Thank you each one, for your participation
in all events and certainly look forward to
your continued support of the WOTM &
LOOM.
Nomination slips may be collected from the
WOTM office and in the front lobby and also may be
secured from any woman of the moose with a current
membership.
There are (4) four offices per Chapter as of Moose
International Las Vegas Convention and Updated
Dec. 25, 2014:

•SECRETARY/TREASURER
•JUNIOR REGENT
•RECORDER
Best wishes to all! Let’s continue to support our
Chapter and Lodge!
We have been forced by rising food costs to increase
our prices on some menu items. But, we are still
charging far less than almost anyone in the region.
For example, the ham & cheese omelet offered at
Sunday breakfast had the biggest increase—all the
way to $5.25, which includes potatoes, toast and
coffee. Take that anywhere and compare. The food
quality has not decreased at all.
Thank you everyone, Saturday at Chapter #1619 and
Lodge #2121 was another day of greatness. The flea
market and classic car show complemented each
other, what a success! The LOOM & the WOTM
worked together to achieve success as always.
Antiques outside, antiques inside. Plenty of food
inside and outside at the TIKI. Profound thanks, lets
do it again!
Things are still moving forward in all areas. We’re
having a dinner/dance musical fundraiser for the
Vietnam War Memorial Wall on February 7 and the
WOTM are having a Valentines’ Day Masquerade
dinner/dance on February 14. We have moose races
every Saturday night plus Bingo on Monday and
Friday. And music, boy do we have music for you.
Every evening except Wednesday and Thursday you
will find live entertainment at the Tiki or the dining
room. Lots for your and your family to do here at
Moose 2121.

TO HONOR
Man & Woman of the Month
RUTH BERNARD
There is a gentleman in this organization who is
constantly helping others in some way, quietly. Our
quiet fellow has a successful business here in town
and makes donations of cash and materials to those
in need, again—without fanfare. Our man of the
month has been generous in his donations to our
Lodge too.
It is my pleasure and honor to announce February's
Man of the Month: The quiet one, C.T. Lane.
Marcia Kerschbaum is February’s Woman of the
Month. She joined WOTM Chapter#1619 February
16, 2011. She earned her Academy of Friendship

Lodge Administrator’s Message
Hey ya’ll. Man, season is here now! We are fortunate to have such a great combo of loyal locals and
snowbirds. With everyone here now, we should have no problem with volunteers. Unfortunately, that is not
the case. We still need you guys and gals for all kinds of things. Please contact me and we can discuss your
field of expertise (handyman, cook, server, BBQ master, etc.).
The Fellowship Jubilee went wonderfully with the help of several people.Nice Steamship Round, Joey!
MMMM! Check out the monthly calendar for all of our upcoming events.
A couple of things I’ve noticed are that the bands are really great lately and that is attributed to Kim Troxell.
Great job kid! (my nickname for her). The other thing is food prices are soaring. Due to this there will be a
small increase on some food on all of our menus. Thanks for understanding.
Let’s keep the season rolling in the right direction. Some may not know this but your Lodge is ranked #13 in
the whole country. Wow. Yes, the whole country! Be proud of that and come support us by your visit or
volunteering.
See ya’ll next month!
Your Administrator, Casey Vaartjes
PS: everyone is working as hard and fast as they can on Friday night dinners and Sunday breakfast. It just
fills up all at once so please be patient.
