John W. Friend, Superintendent
Dear Basketball Fans,
Welcome to the Gene Evans Gymnasium!
Carlisle Area School District is proud to support the Thundering Herd
basketball team. The Carlisle Way encourages the value of students
participating in extracurricular activities that develop character and
leadership skills. The game of basketball exemplifies the values of
cooperation and hard work to be successful.
We are proud of the student-athletes who have earned the right to play
in these games representing the Carlisle Area School District. The District
appreciates the support the students receive from their parents and fans.
Enjoy the game and Go Herd!
John W. Friend
Superintendent
Welcome to Thundering Herd Basketball. We are all excited to embark on
another year of fun, excitement, and memories to be shared throughout
the Carlisle Basketball Program. Carlisle is so fortunate to have so many
students, parents, alumni, and fans support our basketball teams. I hope
that all of our fans will enjoy the spirit of competition and be supportive of
all of the athletes this winter season.
I know our players and coaches truly appreciate the dedication, support,
and “Carlisle Pride” that you bring to our athletic programs. We are
fortunate to produce model citizens who compete in all of our athletic
contests within the spirit of good sportsmanship. We appreciate all the
positive support and reinforcement that all of our community gives to our
student-athletes.
Carlisle truly appreciates the work ethic of our athletes, the sacrifices of our
parents, the dedication of our coaches, and the support of all of our faithful and loyal fans. Through
the hard work and efforts of our school board, faculty, student body and very supportive community,
Carlisle is able to provide many opportunities for our students both in the classroom as well as in athletic endeavors. We thank everyone who helps make Carlisle a wonderful school to be associated with.
Best of luck to all of our winter sports teams throughout the 2014-2015 season. We hope that our
strong blend of excellence in academics and athletics develop successful young people who can meet
the challenges of the 21st Century. Hope you enjoy the games and we hope to see you again as a
proud supporter of Thundering Herd athletics.

A Message from the Head Coach
Welcome back Thundering Herd Fans and Family!
It has been a real honor and pleasure to coach basketball here at my
alma mater.
I’m proud of the success we have had in the past few years, thanks to hard
work, dedicated players and coaches and the tremendous support of the
Carlisle community.
We want to build on those accomplishments this year with a team that
includes seasoned veterans and younger players who have shown a great deal
of promise. They have all worked very hard over the past year and should be
commended for the time, effort and hard work they put into being a member
of the Thundering Herd Basketball Team.
Carlisle Boys Basketball has a long tradition of excellence – one that we continue to build on. We
appreciate all the fans and supporters who come out to the games to show their support for the team.
Thank you also to the Carlisle Boys Basketball
Boosters Club and all those in the community
that help to make this program a success.
Go Herd!!
