Mobile ID and Personal Data
In the recent years, a significant number of attacks have been conducted to steal from big corporation
databases. Username and password is providing the right level of security for some basic use cases
but the increasing numbers of online services are increasing the demand for a secure internet identity.
Is biometry a possible answer to customer demand for an easy to use and secure way for mobile
identification? People supporting biometry will say that it is a secure and future proof technology that
reduces identity theft. On the other hand the people against see the technology as a threat to personal
privacy. The objective of this session is to address the challenge of mobile identity, the user
experience, the use cases associated and potential business model. How will operators build a secure
business proposal? How will operator market such solution? Is the SIM a way of securing people
biometry?

Money and Mobile Commerce
Over the years, e-commerce businesses have used mobile to help prevent online fraud with one-time
passwords, often at the cost the user experience. At the same time, there’s increased use of mobile
for proximity payments, with banks investigating different approaches, from standardised hardware
security with its complex ecosystem, to an application driven approaches with un-established security
frameworks.
This session will explore how mobile can improve the trade-off between security and convenience,
exploring key questions including:

Can responsibilities be managed properly in a multi-purpose secure element?

Can a combination of hardware and biometrics enable convenient and secure payments,
while preserving data privacy?

Can applications provide a scalable and sustainable security framework for payments?

What are the key success factors – simplicity, user friendliness, ease to deploy?
