The Gallery Collection Create a Greeting Card Scholarship (NEW*)

Description: Submit a photo, artwork, or computer graphic to be used as the front of a greeting
card.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Academic and Community Service Scholarships (NEW*)
Deadline: 2/25/2015
Description: To qualify for the academic scholarship students must be: 1. Female college bound
member of the class of 2015, 2. Have a 89 or better GPA , 3. Have successfully passed the GHSWT at the
time of application submission, 4. Submit 1 letter of recommendation from a counselor or teacher, 5.
Have a demonstrated financial need, 6. Have demonstrated leadership ability, 7. Be single, never married,
8. Not have any children. To qualify for the community service scholarship students must be: 1. Female
college bound member of the class of 2015, 2. Have a 80 or better GPA , 3. Have volunteered a minimum
of 100 hours in the community and be able to provide documentation from the appropriate agency, 4.
Have a demonstrated financial need, 5. Be single, never married, 6. Not have any children. 7. Have
demonstrated leadership ability. Please see Mrs. McGuire for more information and to obtain an
application. Johnson High School can only submit 7 applicants for each scholarship. Deadline to
submit application materials to the Guidance Office is February 18, 2015.
Amount: $2,000 for the Academic Scholarship; $1,000 for the Community Service Scholarship
Savannah Area Republican Women Scholarship (NEW*)
Deadline: 2/28/2015 5:00 PM
Description: The Savannah Area Republican Women scholarship is given each year to a high
school girl who will be pursuing a college education in the field of political science, history,
journalism, television, communications, economics or international relations. The applicant may
be attending any public or private high school in Savannah, Georgia and should be a registered
voter if eligible.
Amount: $1,000

Grady Young Foundation Memorial Scholarships (NEW*)
Deadline: 3/1/2015
Description: Students may apply for the following scholarships: Lucy Mosley Young, Jessie
Young Johnson, Marion P. Lott. Each of the previously mentioned scholarships have individual
requirements but the general program requirements include: applicants must graduate with the
class of 2015, provide proof of acceptance to a college/university for Fall 2015, have at least a
2.0, and complete the FAFSA. Applications are available in the Counselor’s Office.

Georgia Fire Sprinkler Association Scholarship (NEW*)
Deadline: 3/10/2015
Description: High School seniors may compete in this essay contest by writing a 700-1,000
word text only essay on the topic: What are the pros and cons of requiring fire sprinklers to be
installed in all new single family housing constructed in the state of Georgia?

Dolphin Scholarship (Navy Submariners and Family Members) (NEW*)

Description: Students - High school senior or college student - Child or stepchild of member or

March 15 - Scholar must attend a four year accredited college or university and intend to work

Savannah Coastal Empire Section of the Society of Women Engineers Scholarship

engineering technology.

Description: Award recognizes students who have had to overcome great physical, emotional, or

AIAA Aeronautical Scholarship (NEW*)

Description: For local students who will attend a local college to study in an aerospace
engineering field.

Georgia PTA Student Scholarship (NEW*)
Deadline: 4/25/2015 *All applications must be postmarked by this date
Description: Applicants must be a graduating senior of a Georgia high school with a
PTA/PTSA; the PTA must be in good standing (i.e., dues paid, approved bylaws on file); the
student AND parent/guardian are current members AND must provide a copy of PTA/PTSA
membership card with application; will attend a college, university or post-secondary institution
during the upcoming school year; has exhibited good character; has a satisfactory scholastic
record. Grade point 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Omar Temple No. 21 Scholarship (NEW*)

Description: Must be a senior; 2.8 GPA minimum; must be accepted as a fulltime student in

permanent residents; Not a Sussle Scholarship or other Sussle contest winner in the previous 12 months,

Youth of the Month/Year Program
Deadline: End of each Month (beginning in October 2014 – March 2015)
Description / Criteria: Candidates must be qualified for graduation, and submit an entry form. Youth of
the Month winners will later compete for Youth of the Year)

Amount: 6 monthly winners will receive plaque, leather-bound dictionary, a check, and the experience to
speak to a large group; Local Youth of Year winner will also receive two $500 scholarships and entered
to compete in District Exchange Club contest with a prize of $1,500.00 and entered into the National
Exchange Club Contest. National winner will be awarded a $10,000.00 scholarship.
Carl Gregory Scholar Athlete
Deadline: The last Friday in each month (Final deadline: 5/29/15 @ 5PM ET)
Description/Criteria: High school senior who is active in at least one varsity level sport and one
community service organization; minimum GPA of 3.0. You can nominate yourself.

SunTrust Off To College Scholarship
Deadline: 5/14/2015
Description / Criteria: Free to enter — eligibility is not based on GPA or financial need. Drawings start
on 10/31.

Georgia Southwestern State University Scholarships
Deadline: Prior to Feb. 1, 2015
Description / Criteria: GA Southwestern offers numerous scholarships for freshmen. To apply for all
scholarships, freshmen must be accepted to GA Southwestern and complete the Freshmen Scholarship
Application. Check website for specific criteria for each scholarship.

Marist College Technology Scholarships
Deadline: 2/1/15
Description / Criteria: Full four-year tuition, room and board scholarships as well as high-level
internships and mentors w/ leaders from IBM, Cisco, Goldman Sachs and others. Must interview w/
dean/faculty of Computer Science/Math; declare Computer Science as major; full time enrollment at
Marist starting Fall 2015 required.

USDA National Scholars Program
Deadline: 2/1/15
Description/Criteria: Full tuition, employment w/ USDA during the summer, pays fees, books and room
and board for each academic year. Must plan to major in any field of Agriculture (other related fields
include botany, computer science and botany) at schools on the approved list given on the website. Must
be US citizen, 3.0 GPA; 21 ACT or higher)

University of North GA Military Scholarships
Deadline: 2/1/2015 (But students are required to apply ASAP)!
Description/Criteria: Must be legal resident of GA; have a 3.0 GPA; minimum SAT scores of 440 math
& 480 critical reading (or ACT scores of 18 math & 20 English); be recommended by a GA State
Assemblyman. Requires students to commission as a second lieutenant in the GA Army National Guard
after finishing college.

Amount: $70,000 full-ride scholarship and it’s only available @ University of North GA. Pays 100% of
college costs, including room, meals, tuition, fees, uniforms and books. In addition, students who are
offered this scholarship will make about $40,000 in pay and benefits over their four years in college.
Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship
Deadline: 2/15/2015 (May begin submitting online apps Nov. 1st)
Description/Criteria: Graduating, minority high school senior; plan to attend accredited 4yr US
institution; show leadership potential; demonstrate dedication to community service; present evidence of
financial need; US citizen; 1,000 minimum combined SAT score or a composite ACT score of 22.

WACE Coop Program Scholarship
Deadline: 2/15/2015
Description / Criteria: QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify for this scholarship, students must: Have a
cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale, Apply and be accepted for the 2015-2016
academic year at one of the WACE Partner Institutions listed. Complete the National Co-op Scholarship
Program Application including a typed one-page essay (200-words) describing why you have chosen to
pursue a college cooperative education program.

Description / Criteria: ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be a child, grandchild, or under guardianship of a
Marine Corps Tanker who was or is active, reserve, retired, or honorably discharged, who served in a
MARINE CORPS TANK UNIT. The applicant’s sponsor must be a member of the MCTA or, if the
application is accepted, the sponsor must join the MCTA. Applicant may also be a Marine or Navy
Corpsman currently serving in a Marine Corps Tank Unit.
