Female college bound member of the class of 2015, 2. Have a 89 or better GPA , 3. Have successfully passed the GHSWT at the time of application submission, 4. Submit 1 letter of recommendation from a counselor or teacher, 5. Have a demonstrated financial need, 6. Have demonstrated leadership ability, 7. Be single, never married, 8. Not have any children. To qualify for the community service scholarship students must be: 1. Female college bound member of the class of 2015, 2. Have a 80 or better GPA , 3. Have volunteered a minimum of 100 hours in the community and be able to provide documentation from the appropriate agency, 4. Have a demonstrated financial need, 5. Be single, never married, 6. Johnson High School can only submit 7 applicants for each scholarship. Deadline to submit application materials to the Guidance Office is February 18, 2015. Amount: $2,000 for the Academic Scholarship; $1,000 for the Community Service Scholarship Savannah Area Republican Women Scholarship (NEW*) Deadline: 2/28/2015 5:00 PM Description: The Savannah Area Republican Women scholarship is given each year to a high school girl who will be pursuing a college education in the field of political science, history, journalism, television, communications, economics or international relations. The applicant may be attending any public or private high school in Savannah, Georgia and should be a registered voter if eligible. Each of the previously mentioned scholarships have individual requirements but the general program requirements include: applicants must graduate with the class of 2015, provide proof of acceptance to a college/university for Fall 2015, have at least a 2.0, and complete the FAFSA. Carl Gregory Scholar Athlete Deadline: The last Friday in each month (Final deadline: 5/29/15 @ 5PM ET) Description/Criteria: High school senior who is active in at least one varsity level sport and one community service organization; minimum GPA of 3.0. Description/Criteria: Must be legal resident of GA; have a 3.0 GPA; minimum SAT scores of 440 math & 480 critical reading (or ACT scores of 18 math & 20 English); be recommended by a GA State Assemblyman. Requires students to commission as a second lieutenant in the GA Army National Guard after finishing college. Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship Deadline: 2/15/2015 (May begin submitting online apps Nov. 1st) Description/Criteria: Graduating, minority high school senior; plan to attend accredited 4yr US institution; show leadership potential; demonstrate dedication to community service; present evidence of financial need; US citizen; 1,000 minimum combined SAT score or a composite ACT score of 22.
